As the violence continues in the Middle East, Jewish and Muslim communities in Scotland have spoken out about their fears of a rise in anti-Semitism and Islamophobia.

Our Scotland Correspondent Kathryn Samson has been to Glasgow, where for some, the events of the last few weeks feel very close to home.

It would be interesting to see what Scotland's Scottish community has to say about its country.

There is no room for hate, end of! I applaud the Jewish and Muslim communities of Scotland for the good relationships they have with everyone 🙏 No room for hate ❤

Scotland is accepting. Scotland is FAR FAR FAR more tolerant than Pakistan, for example. This is a fact backed up by endless social attitude surveys.

islamophobia... just don't hunt Jews on the streets, remove posters of victims and don't damage property. Taking on the role of victim now is probably a bad joke.

Organised religion is easily one the greatest disasters humanity had the misfortune to invent.

It would be cool to have both of those circles get together and show they stand united.

I am Irish, Ireland has a long history of support for Palestine. Ireland's long experience of colonisation shaping national sentiment towards the plight of the Palestinian people and the Apartheid Israeli regime.

The Republic of Ireland has a long history of backing Palestine's self-determination in a official capacity. In 1980, Ireland became the first country in the EU to call for an independent Palestine state, and in 1993, it became the last European country to receive an Israeli embassy.

Nowadays in Ireland there are Jews in every county, but mostly in and around Dublin, where Ireland's Jewish community have made a rich and colourful contribution to the Irish way of life. and we all get along just grand!

I've seen so much anti semitic content online lately by seemingly normal people. I know anti semetism was huge in the 19th and 20th century but I thought people had changed since those days

To all Muslim in the world, please be calm and act in peace. Do not worsen the situation. Show them who we really are. Please.

There is no such thing as Islamaphobia. A phobia is an irational fear. Fear of Islam is perfectly rational.

★ when a religion stays in
one person it will do good,
but if a religion brings public
it can be a monster .

These Jews and Muslims in Scotland should stand together and tell the world to stop hating therm. As long as they say it from two different sides, it will not have the full impact.

Please don’t tell me you’re STILL blaming the British nationals for any violence? These ‘communities’ just cannot help but have hatred in their hearts for their host.
