Tools & Gear We Use and Recommend

Who would have thought there is so much to learn about the very basics of TIG torches? In this special #TIGSimple episode, Justin the Fabricator breaks down all the ins and outs of TIG torches.

TFS would very much like to thank CK Worldwide for providing the torches used in this episode. Yes, we use them all the time daily in the shop, and in our hands on TIG classes. They're the only thing that doesn't break.

What a time to live. All this free info from an absolutely charismatic professional. Amazing videos brother. Wish there were more people interested in welding so you got the recognition you deserve.

It is INSANE to me how straightforward and informative this video/ channel is... as someone coming from a stick background trying to get a tig setup at home, I appreciate the content, keep it up!

This is a video to save and watch again. One of the best newbie videos I've watched so far. Answered many questions I didn't know I needed to ask. Thanks!

This has got to have been one of the best videos on this subject. I am sure i will watch this one several times, over and over to let info sink in. Great job on viewing and teaching 10 out 10. You blew it out of the park

I just rewatched this video after spending about two months behind the torch and man this made so much more sense than when I watched it before ever tig welding before 😂

So glad I found your channel, its the best breakdown and no nonsense information of all the TIG videos I've been sorting through. I have an old transformer machine, (Hobart ct300) I've used it occasionally over the years and never got great at it practicing on my own, but managed to get by when I needed it. Recently I decided to improve my skill with a purpose and so far I've gotten more useful information from 2 or 3 videos of yours that I've watched than pretty much all the other "TIG channels" out there. Thanks for making them

Love your videos. Clear, concise, no unnecessary self promotion. I don't subscribe or like a lot of channels. You got both.

Perfect!! Just the video I needed to clear up some thoughts I had on different style torches. I'm new to the world of TIG welding and have fallen heavily on your videos to help me along in becoming a better welder. Thank you for your time that you've put in making them.

I just started to try my horrible hand at welding again. Your videos are not only AMAZING but address my shortcomings in welding! Thank You!!

To keep it short. Differences are:
Size
Water vs air cooled
Flex vs non flex

Great video tho man! I remember when I first got into welding, I watched your videos on that evo and 240 helped me a ton!

Your new stuff would have been great to have as a fresh welder!

After 40 years of welding, I'm finally stepping up to the one I haven't done...
Just ordered a CK17 flex with the valve. Being cheap, by cheap I mean scratch starting...
Reason, I can run it on my service trucks Ranger8 and I can hook it up to the old buzz box (gives me a reason to keep the old paid for machines 😎
I really don't know what brand is best, I do know what brands I won't
CK is one that seems to be used in a lot of videos and has a good reputation!!
I also considered Lincoln, but price and speed of receiving had an influence... LoL...
You said learn on a rigid, but I only plan on buying If my daughters choose to learn TIG, then maybe we will spend the money on HF Water-cooled....
But for now, scratch😎
Thank you for the very informative video!!!!

I used to work for Acklands Grainger as welding tech support, the argon only is air cooled torch, for higher amperages and higher duty cycles you need the water cooled torch, I used to weld with air cooled models up to about 130 amps no probs 100 percent duty cycle, no real issues with the right size torch like wp-17 or so, but when you have to be at around 150 or more 100 percent duty, get the water cooler. We used to do a lot of tungsten carbide overlay of oilfield screens for Suncor and such, and lots of fine tuning the robotic overlay of same hardfacing material.
