Please also cover how to set up backups that are protected from ransomware. My Qnap NAS was one of the 3600 that got hit by the latest deadbolt ransomware, and although I could recover from backups, my backup setup was really unprepared for a ransomware attack. My second medium backup were on external USB drives connected to the NAS, but the NAS sees these as mounted drives, which of course, the ransomware also could get access to. Having a second medium backup that is ransomware safe and automatic and hassle free, as in doesn’t involve swapping drives, would be my goal.
