This lens changed my mind on landscape photography! In this episode we photograph urban landscapes and long exposure with a wide angle lens. Shot on my Sony a7III this 7 artisans 15mm f4 allowed me to capture unique details and vibrant colors that make San Francisco one of the world's most popular destinations! With the use of a ND filter I was also able to capture some unique effects including a silky beach landscape! drop a like down below if you enjoyed this episode and also comment if you want to see a full review of this lens!

Glad your camera survived. I jumped out of my seat when I saw the tripod fall. The wide angle point of view is tempting and I like the images you made. Enjoyable video as always.

Thanks for the lens review.

I use a similar lens (Nikon 14mm f/2.8 AF-D). It is the widest lens in my inventory. I primarily use it in a 14/28/55/105mm lens kit for reportage, street, architectural interiors, and landscapes.

You should try the Laowa 9mm f/2.8 for your Fuji. Small, sharp and ultra-wide at 13.5mm full frame equivalent.

Nice shots.

Considering getting the lens as well, even though it is a bit wide. Normally shooting with a 21mm lens, but miss a little extra width now and then.

I use a 16mm and an TTArtisan 11mm on a Canon R5 - great results. I dropped the R5 with the 28-70 f/2 last week. Luckily it just broke the lens hood with no other damage. I ALWAYS use a lens hood! Glad your gear is ok.

This is inspiring me to get out with my sigma 14-24mm. I have barely used it since I bought it (failed real estate gig purchase lol) Always excited when you post! Looking forward to more thriftin videos!

Currently I'm using 17 / 18 mm or equivalent lenses as my widest, and for me that's more than enough. I've used 14mm and a fisheye lenses in the past, but unless you are in a really, REALLY tight spaces like in a cockpit of a racing car or a fighter jet, it's an overkill in my opinion...

With that lens your compositions are not just going to be complicated (or whatever the adjective was); they are pretty much out the window and gone. You're in the realm of new rules with that. Many traditional compositions will fall by the wayside. You're pretty much starting from scratch, photo-composition-wise. Have fun learning!

Hey man, I don’t know how often you read comments but I was kinda curious if you might ever consider doing a kind of test I guess about lomographys purple film after it’s expired and how the colors change or how it affects shots. Probably something I’ll try myself one day but was just curious if you ever thought about something like that

I have 28mm for my film camera and I don’t know what to photo on it. It is just too wide and everything is small and in the city there are not so many spots to make a photo

What do you do with these landscape photos? Do you sell prints of them?

Jonathan, you living dangerous using your equipment like in this episode. Use no tripod’s with a Centre column. They are unstable due to small footprint. Tripods without centre column can stand wider and if they are good one, can be used in (sea) water without destroying the tripod or equipment on it. So the best tripod tip is “buy your best tripod first”, to save money at the end. Buying improved tripod’s again and again will cost more. I use a Gitzo GT3541XLS with 1.98 meter maximum high for my 1.996 body sincere 2007, and is in good shape for the years to come.

Photographing Architecture as you did is fun with a wide angle lens. You falling vertical edges is of course composition choice. When photographing exactly parallel with these vertical edges then the edges will be vertical. With some creative cropping you make the photograph what you had in mind. Saving most of your Mpixels can be performed by using tilt-shift lenses. It can give you vertical edges with the complete building in frame. With tilt you can introduce creative out of focus area’s. Often using a tilt-shift lenses is slowing down the photography process.

Like your work, like you magazine, keep up the good work. Love to see images of my favorite town San Francisco.
