We are a high end cabinet shop and turbine is now the only thing we use now we tested all spray equipment and name brands my opinion turbine is so much better in quality finish .

I recommend hvlp turbine it does a great job and talking about air compressors it's high risk if it blast

One part of the problem for the layman is that everybody uses the term HVLP for multiple guns and setups.

Hello there Josh, thanks for the great nfo, do you happen to know if we can adapt a compressor hvlp gun to use with a turbine sprayer?

You are incorrectly (either purposefully or inadvertantly) comparing HVLP Turbine to Reduced-Pressure compressed air systems. This unfortunately is confusing your viewers, because your title gives the impression you're comparing two HVLP technologies, when in fact you are not. What you are comparing is HVLP Turbine to reduced-pressure compressed air systems. Two entirely different spray finishing systems.

Had you stuck to following your title and compared the two HVLP air source systems (turbine vrs compressed air), you would have very little to compare, as they both perform very much the same.

Let's stop comparing apples to oranges.

I have an older hvlp turbine--no gun. How can I assess the performance of the turbine so that I can decide whether or not to invest in a new gun and hose for it?

But I can put a regulator on my air compressor. Isn’t that kind of the same thing?

Hi Josh, what about a siphon fed compressed air spray gun with an HVLP cap? Or what about a pressure fed gun with an HVLP cap using a pressure pot? And what about HVLP spray guns? These reduce the pressure down to a similar pressure used in turbine units dont they?

Does a turbine system require a thinner material viscosity than conventional?

what hvlp gun would you recommend for my compressor?

The problem with hvlp is that you have to dilute the paint to such extend that you destroy the properties of the paint. You either have to spray automotive paints or buy industrial grade paints designed for furniture spraying with an hvlp gun, which are not easy to come by and have to be bought in larger quantities, minimum 5liter. Airless sprays prety much anything without dilution.
