This has happened to me at school. One girl at my classroom put herself beside me and asked a guy who was prettier. She did that to hurt me because the guy didn't even get along with me so well. But surprisingly to me the guy told her in front of everyone that I was prettier. I just smiled said thank you and went back on my business. I will always remember that. It was such a slap to her ego that she never ever messed with me again.

I have been an outsider before. I understand her. I don't wear make up and have been dealing with bad skin all my life, because I'm unattractive in the eyes of society and lack confidence it's easy to get treated like crap and barely get compliments. Being an outcast and being ignored sucks, but I'd take being ignored over being fake any day

I'm a girl myself but I really hate it when others treat another like that, I do my best so that when someone is new somewhere or shy they feel welcomed because it doesn't feel right to be ignored like that.

Unfortunately, that was super relatable. I feel like being an "ugly" girl can be worse than being an "ugly" guy in the sense that if you are an ugly girl you'll be ignored and mocked by both guys and girls. I feel like guys don't pay so much attention to looks when it comes to friendship. The thing is ... Jennifer is not even ugly? I want to give this girl a hug. She sounds like a down to earth person but I worry with how society tends to favor “pretty girls” that it will get to her. Being ignored/rejected like this can really mess with one’s mind if done enough times so I hope she feels validated and confident enough to continue being her.

I was bullied for being ugly, men even did the fun little joke where they ask all the ugly girls out to beat up their self esteem. I just ignored them, but some women bought into it. Super sad.

Instead of saying straight to her face that they think she is ugly, they instead did it by complimenting themselves and leaving her out of it. Which is basically the same thing but manipulative.
