Ok so I got one of these, about 2-3 years ago. Since then I have been burning up a heating element once a year.
It could be the age of my dryer yes, however I had never needed to replace the element before this. Owned this dryer since 2012.
I replace all three parts each time it goes bad. I have only changed the thermoster once due to its location.
I’m currently looking at options to move the vent down the wall to meet perfectly with the dryer.

Have a similar one and it introduces turbulence, dryer takes longer and gets lint buildup on roof vent due to reduced airflow. Ran across this video looking to replace it

I dunno about this. A home inspector once told me there are certain regs about sharp turns and how many 90* angles a dryer vent can have. So I'm not sure a box is technically legal.

Beyond that, my dryer fits into a boxed in area and the wall vent is offset. There's no way to get behind it to line it up then tighten the clamps.

Mines a bit more complicated than that. My dryer sits against the outside wall in a cramped space. It came undone and I can get behind it to fix it. Hardly any room to pull the dryer out to get behind it. My vent to behind the dryer to the outside

I like how the measurements on this hose replacement dictate where you now need to move your dryer for it to work! I don't want to move my dryer to accommodate!
