22% poverty rate. That's all I have to say. Over a fifth of the population are barely making ends meet.

They've eaten everything else. Now they're just putting the finishing touches to a new feudal system.

The problem with this is that people call for ‘higher taxes’ which when implemented are just saddled onto the working and middle classes … changes to the tax system must include tax cuts for the poor, working and middle class and tax rises for the billionaires… sadly Govt never do this … they only ever tax the poor more …

The worst part is they don't even need the meal.

These problems are not unique to Britain. They are present all over the world, especially the developed world. Gary knows this is the BS neoliberal economic shift which began over 40 years ago. Most of the capital, technology, manufacturing and skilled jobs were sucked out so companies could make their goods in the cheapest sources of production in countries which never reciprocated "free trade" and imported the same cheap goods to the developed countries and put domestic manufacturers out of business. The huge trade deficits are reflected in huge government debts, which international companies and the rich don't pay. Britain has been a one party state for 45 years. The few chances of electing a government for change were rejected by a misinformed electorate misled into being turkeys voting for Christmas by the dishonest mainstream media which is mostly controlled by right wing, non domiciled billionnaires.

We need a major overhaul of financial institutions and government. The removal of money from politics would be a good start. Deliberative democracy for the people, not the 1%!

Have any of you been to Mumbai? Collosal poverty over there. That's London in 10 years. Carry on eating crisps and playing video games.

Perfect Definition of India current Situation.
The billionaire no. Increased from 44 to 140+ from 2019-2022.
The top rich 1% own more than 40% of country wealth, and poor bottom 50% doesnot even own 10% of wealth..

The question is: what do we do, the people who understand this? It certainly doesn't help to insult people who don't understand this, or those who do understand it, but just want to be millionaires themselves?

I live in Switzerland (yeah the tax heaven for the rich).
As an employee I pay between 22-25% of my income in taxes.
It doesn’t matter if I earn 50k/y, 100k/y or whatever other income… I am taxed and there is no questions.

Why are we allowing billionaires to pay just 1-3% (if anything at all) of their incomes in taxes?
Is that only because „they pay a lot more than normal people because they earn so much“?
If so - why is my tax not getting reduced as my salary grows? I end up paying more than poorer ones so why not reduce my % of tax?

Ah yes… The billionaire simps hate consistency and logic. They prefer to ignore the obvious just so their ego remains unhurt.

I agree, but using language like collapsing makes it unbelievable. Slowly declining at a pace where people are accepting/don’t notice until nothing will be left, is more convincing.

The government has the money it needs to fix these problems. They don't need our money to make the initial payments.

Sadly what you are saying is true Gary. There are working people being forced to use food banks in order to feed their children.

Now I'm genuinely trying to get to the bottom of something here.

On the one hand I'm reading that the national debt is being massively overstated to the tune of £1trn by the ONS - they never actually publish their calculations - in order to justify austerity, and on the other I'm led to believe that the (official) debt is effectively counterbalanced to the exact penny by a private surplus.

If the latter is true, which kinda makes perfect sense in accounting terms, then obviously those who can afford to invest in and hold that debt for interest bearing profit are at a distinct advantage compared to those who obviously can't and, by extension, have to endure the brunt of its consequences through austerity measures.

Great message you're getting out there Gary, the content of this video is almost identical to what RFK jr has been saying about what's happening in the US. Could really do with someone with this level of understanding running for office in the UK ;)
