Realistic Photo Backdrop Install - TrainJunkies.com

I showed the before and after of installing my first ever "Realistic Photo Backdrop" on the 4 panels inside the balloon loop on the lower level. I didn't show exactly how I did everything because there was some existing scenery to work around that will need repairs, however this scenery looks stunning in my opinion and I am looking forward into adding more later down the road.

Photo backgrounds looks great. Amazing how good they look when you put some 'stuff' in front of them. I think it really makes a huge impact on how a layout looks. Look forward to seeing how it all turns out.

Old dirty trick is to buy the material that the back drop is being mounted to figure out the width then add 1/8 of a inch. Then buy a thin board of the same width. Wrap the board in wax paper and glue Popsicle sticks to the back side and secure lightly with double sided tape to the wall. Then landscape away. When done slowly wiggle the board loose and replace with the permanent board with the back drop mounted.

Double-sided tape will not withstand humidity, the back drop photo looks great, the one issue I have and it is probably just a personal taste thing 😅 is that the taller trees are in the back which will hinder the depth perception. I hope that made sense. Thanks for sharing

Jason that backdrop has a 3D effect to it. It looks good without you putting up trees, but I bet it really pops when you do get the trees up.
