I think for this game, you'd only get water salutes if you:

- Do an airline's first flight
- Buy and fly a new aircraft type for the first time
- Flying to a new destination for the first time
- Have a special passenger onboard
- Have a pilot who is about to retire (another new feature)

First flight with a new pilot crew
First flight with a new plane
First flight to a new destination
First flight ever in your airline
Flight milestones, which are ten, 50, 100, 500, 1k, 2k, 4k flights

I think how it works is that maybe they added like a water salute for every achievement in the game like the first flight after you get veteran maybe but they make it so that like after you’ve completed basically everything they add a new menu called ‘special events’ where you can do events after completing the game for free of you could buy a game pass.

1)like you said landing at an airport for the first time (which I agree)
2)maybe if celebrity's are on board you get a salute?
