Were the first LED grow lights any good? 10 year old MARS HYDRO II grow light review

I was surprised how badly this light performs... It's easy to understand how early adopters of LED grow lights were put off LED grow lights forever!

I still have the mars hydro 1 LED as a spare light for brightening extra dark spots. Not the best light but fine for the purposes listed, I believe it claims 300 w draws 180

Correction: as a pc modder i can tell you with certainty that the fans (Corsair SP120's) which are actually good quality fans, are not blowing onto the heatsink but rather sucking the heat away upwards

they were called 900w models because they use 180 5v LEDS but they are only using 2.5 of the 5v's

They dont ship with crosair fans from the factory 😂 so the dude clearly did somme upgrades cus thats not how they look when you open them up 😂😂

They work fine I've used them on and off for over a decade. Perfect spectrum for veg and a single plant flower

The fans inside the unit have been upgraded to quieter corsair ones, i did exactly the same with my old lights

Those aint original fans.. corsair would be way to expensive to use.

When my T5s died in the same week, I swapped to my old blurple. Only complaint was the small footprint. Plants in veg, loved it

i got mine from 10 years before also haha, i think to hang it on my wall bcs it was my first light. i got 1 900W viparspectra and 2 300W

I used to have the green one from Mars hydro as I couldn't afford that model but they were both rubbish and based on the black dog light that used Cree chips. Thank god I discovered grow Mouse and Cree cobs.. Use to run the 110 watt cobs at 20 Watts for uber efficiency and elevated my grow out of that Mars hydro crap grow level

I have a few of these old lights in storage, thought about using them for mothers and clones until the cost of new panels dropped and dimming became a common built-in.

And there are very powerfull purple or what you want to call
Many of them have good 5000k or 3000k diodes with red cree ones
So STFU because theres plenty of videos with good results with this lights
You make a video with Mard Hydro Eco or sonething and the Green one and not saying bad at all

Damn I still have my mars hydro blurple they are beast n still do its job but tech definitely has improved for better results
