I got my pair of EV ETX 18SP & is very happy with them. Coming from the Yorkville LS801. Every DJ friend i have is impressed by them.

Man, I can't believe it but the ETX audibly hit the last note on that track! That's seriously impressive!

I was at a lounge in Baton Rouge. The guy had 1 Yorkville LS801P and it was tearing the place up. Just a pure Beast of a speaker.

Great video man. I own both of these subs (as well as DSR tops) and they both rock!!!

other aspects that should be considered are the voice coil size and speaker sensitivity...i have the Cerwin Vega CVA 21" powered subwoofer...it is 1200 w continuos, has a four inch voice coil with a sensitivity of 101db....it's loud!

Arnoldo get your hands on the new EKX-18SP and give us a review! I'm curious to know if they are worth investing and you're input is always valuable.

Looking at a mid $1200-$1500 to get in a pair, looking for loudness and powerful low frequencies (none of that QSC KW181 high frequency resonance crap). I do mostly dj events (school gyms, large ballrooms, lots of kids and guests at the events). Also considering weight and mobility (I do mobile events and will be moving them around in my SUV alot) Would the JBL SRX818SP or EV ETX18SP be a better choice? I am pretty picky and like the lowest possible frequency performance (low and loud! Low enough to not only hear, but feel it throughout your body, and loud enough to really knock cups off of tables and shake your brains out).

just bought the DSP version of Yorkville sub ES18P

That's unfortunate that you had that experience. I'll assume that you were using all touring grade level gear? I've been using Yorkville products for 30 years and never had any issues.

What about overall gut punching feeling? I'm just getting into dj'ing and want a sub for weddings and school dances. Personally I want to feel the lows more than volume.

I've been DJing for years the EV speakers Are the best around they give the best bass sound also the mids and highs I've played with all the Name Brand signature speakers. Nothing Tops Ev's🎼

This really wasn't a fair comparison because the Yorkville is a horn loaded subwoofer. You should try the comparison again at a distance of 60 ft and 90 ft especially if you are in a large Hall. Horn loaded subwoofers throw the bass further into the room. It is better to use this design outdoors or in gymnasiums.

Have you tried the Brand New ES18P Yorkville? It's far better than then it's older brother the Ls801, and it has a built in dsp

Would be nice if you could correspond the notes being played, with the actual frequencies in Hz on the screen.  (eg: 70Hz, 50Hz, 35Hz...)   In general, I believe the Yorkville falls off at around 45Hz +-3dB.

I really like these two subs but can't decide on which to purchase... I hear the Ev clips early and lowers itself....Then i hear the Ls801 Speakers coil wire disintegrates or falls apart.
