"You lost today kid but it doesn't mean you have to like it."

One of the greatest quotes and it inspires indiana Jones to never give up

I love how Dr. Jones talks to his pupils about how archaeology isn't the glamorous world the media presents it to be, while simultaneously being a dashing fictional archaeologist.

“It belongs in a museum”
“So do you”

Classic

The hat scene is magical in its subtlety. Indy was a rebel in his teens and despite following in his fathers footsteps the biggest influence in his life was NOT his father. Brilliant.

I love how Fedora takes off his hat when walks into the Jones house when nobody else does. It's the little touches that tell you what type of person he is.

The whole idea of having a young Indy portion in this film was amazing. The kid playing young Indy did a freaking great job as well!

You can tell that Indy modeled himself after the guy who gave him his own hat. That guy obviously had admiration for Indy especially in that scene where Indy escaped through the magic box. I could see a film where young Indy is mentored by that man.

You lost today kid, doesn't mean you have to like it.

“You lost today kid, but it doesn’t mean you have to like it”

I love that he gave him the words of encouragement. *we might be on opposite sides of the game, but my respect for you is undoubted*

26 years later and he's still wearing that white suit xD

I mean, we can’t ignore how perfect River Phoenix was as young Indy. He could easily match Harrison’s facial expressions, acting and way of talking. If he was still around now he could have played young Indy or a young Han Solo magnificently.

"you lost today kid but it doesn't mean you have to like it" I watched this movie for the first time in 1997 and I never forgot this phrase, I never get sad because of a loss

Love the scene where the guy gives young Indy his hat. The guy had nothing but admiration for the kid.

I will never forget when i first saw this movie at 8 years old i thought where the hell is Harrison Ford. When that hat transition happened and saw Ford, my little face lit up with joy. It still puts a smile on my face to this day and for the record i love River Phoenix as young Indy, RIP.

I love how the guy that punches Indy in the face at 0:41 hurts his hand.

This series wouldn't be the same without Denholm Elliott. Marcus Brody is such an underrated character. Wise within the confines of academia and higher learning, but aimless outside of his comfort zone. More like an astronomer, less like an astronaut.

I can never get over the fact that Indiana just goes back to that school to teach.

Soon as he placed that hat on Henry's Indiana Jones was born.

0:57 Fun Fact: In this scene, the man in the white suit known as “Panama” is played by Canadian actor Paul Maxwell, who back in 1962 provided the voice for Colonel Steve Zodiac in Gerry Anderson’s Fireball XL5. Furthermore, Maxwell has lent his voice to some other characters in some of Gerry Anderson’s later projects such as Thunderbirds and Captain Scarlet.
