This needs to be updated and posted more and more. Something so many people don’t do is get into ARCHERY SHOOTING SHAPE! This is so important as no one can begin to learn the small intricacies of shooting. Like this video on “ not aiming”. Nearly every part time bow shooter strains their guts out fighting to get that pin on a spot. You don’t have to do it that way. Learn to have the best form and shooting process you can. Then figure out to mentally relax and let the pin float WHEREVER it’s at. In the beginning it probably won’t be on the bullseye but continue your normal best process and shoot. DO NOT FIGHT the pin. Learn to position your feet, hips, shoulders in a position so when you are drawn the pin is almost, if not, on or very very close to the bullseye. This is what it’s supposed to be. All lined up where you don’t have to AIM. Your mind will subtly move the pin that last fraction of an inch BY ITSELF because your focus is supposed to be on the exact spot you want to hit. You won’t be fighting anything. It will all come together easily. But you have to practice seriously to get to this point. You can’t do it with 50 or a 100 shots. You have to retrain your body AND your mind. GOOD LUCK FOLKS.

Dont over think it, clear your mind, think center of center, time your breathing with the release.

Trad shooters: " what's aiming? They make sights for bows? If your that bad then just throw the bow at your target, you'll hit it "
Not all trad archers are like this but it fits well XD

Practice drill for aiming MORE! 200 arrows a day.. You'll have much better results...

What I found works is use a bigger target face till you're comfortable with the small ones. But your advice is great also for float. Timing shots with float is tough.

I find that if I aim the pin then I'm still inside the bow, but if I aim the target then I get outside the bow. Float doesn't bother as much with attention outward on the target, though I'm just learning. Seems to help.

Okay so...in my case when i draw the bow the pin goes down and then rise up to aim for the center ..but still i can't control the aim in the center ...the pin dosent go any left or right ...when i try to control the aim ..i realease the arrow in between like my aim that time is in down 8 or 7 if you will understand or not 🙄

1:35 - Holy crap that draw form is beyond awful. Trying to show yourself as a "coach" while showing technique that bad is laughable. Drawing like that is so, so bad. Makes it so much harder to engage your back correctly and massively increases the chance of injury.

Man I wish my pin was moving inside yellow only on 18m.. I would score these 300 easily. Unfortunately pin is moving up to 7 ring on good days and up to white on bad ones.. it's kinda tough not to aim and it barely helps to hit X rings.

Concentrate/look at what your aiming at....NOT aim at what your looking at.
Your brain can only focus on one subject at a time ! Your focus point should be your target and not your pin.

I disagree. I term "aiming" as the specific focus of the center of the target "ignoring" the pin entirely. I started doing this, and my float went from hitting the red to staying inside the X/10 ring. As I load up to execute(I shoot a Carter Evolution) my float almost disappears.

shoot what you aim at not what you look at...

i noticed that some of those guys were dropping their bows too quickly. you should drop your bow once you hear the arrow hit the target .
