I am interested in swapping the 440 into my old ariens gt17. Do you think this engine swap is worthwhile? Second, would you recommend the removal of the governor and cutting the oil tilt switch? Thank you very much

These simple "Single Cylinder" Engines need Back Pressure...
This is my assessment before running with the "Clean Exhaust".

Totally thought the tach was a picture in picture at first until you moved the camera out and back to position. Busy listening and watching. Can you drag race with nitro and/or nitrous and/or turbos with gas?

I saw 5520 stock and 5610 with airbox and exhaust muffler removed. Anymore than that, I would be cautious about being close to engine without bullet flywheel, but I would be interested in seeing a tuned length pipe with a free flowing muffler with a bullet flywheel and a properly jetted mikuni with proper valve springs 😀 and send it to, oh maybe 7500, nice video with some data we can use, I have been curious about the lifan 625 that las Vegas karts has stopped selling for an unknown reason 🤔 this 625cc engine has a nice charging system also which would be nice for light on our karts I am still debating whether to get the duromax predator 459, or this lifan 625, unfortunately the lifan doesn't seem to have much aftermarket support and not much information about its durability,

By the sounds of it may need different size carb jets or readjust the air/fuel mixture on the carb

great video, I'm looking at this engine for a mud motor. Do you think this motor is actually 18hp? I read somewhere that duromax fudged their numbers..

Isn’t the point of the governor to keep RPMS at x and no farther…?

🤔 IF YOU HAVE A SCOOTER/ MOTORBIKE PIPE WITH THE BIGGER SECTION OF PIPE IN IT FOR BACK PRESSURE MIGHT BE WORTH A TRY. LIKE ONE OFF A CHINESUM 50CC PULL START BIKE IF YOU GET THAT SORT OF RUBBISH THERE TOO. 👍

I have the same engine but with a environmental canister with a tube to the top of the gas tank. How do I eliminate it and it still runs right? Now it won't empty the tank. Better if I disconnect tube on tank. Thanks.

Its probably just leaning out, thats why the rpm goes higher.

I have the same engine in my 2009 Yamaha Golf Cart. Special note I made my kit Vegas Performance did not have a kit yet came out great.
For exhaust I bought header pipe, but I felt was to close to drive belt and primary clutch this is what I did. I separated the stock muffler from cast iron exhaust pipe and wallerd out the mounting holes from header pipe, problem solved. 👍
