Are these stratis snapshots CopyOnWrite (COW) ??

So stratis seems like it's LVM+ext4 (but using xfs as base) combined into one package with simpler commands than LVM.

Question is how is the performance compared to LVM+ext4? Please do IO benchmark test. The main features I'm interested for are COW snapshots and faster IO.
