06 October 2020 | The 2020 Advancing Development Goals International Contest for Graduate Students, also known as The Geneva Challenge, invited students from around the world to devise solutions to the complex issues arising from social exclusion in order to foster social and economic development.
On the occasion of the Award Ceremony, Juan Manuel Santos, former President of Colombia and recipient of the Nobel Peace Prize in 2016, addressed the challenges of social inclusion faced by a country such as Colombia. The lecture was moderated by Professor Martina Viarengo, Chair of the Academic Steering Committee for the Geneva Challenge.
Following the online lecture of President Santos, the Jury for the seventh edition of the Geneva Challenge announced the winners of the contest and awarded the five finalist teams, one per continent, for their innovative and pragmatic solutions addressing the challenges of social inclusion.
