How to Make Best Pastry Cookies - Easy Pastry Cookies Recipe
These pastry biscuits are perfectly sweet, and totally delicious.
Flaky and buttery, this homemade Puff Pastry Biscuits is shockingly easy to make. Made with only five simple ingredients, you can have a melt-in-your-mouth puff pastry in no time.
Ingredients for 18 cookies
3 1/2 cups sifted flour
1 tsp baking powder
1 cup cold grated butter
1 cup sour cream or yogurt
1 egg
1 tsp vanilla extract
1/4 cup walnuts
Filling:
2/3 cup cold grated butter
1 cup sifted flour
3/4 cup sugar
Directions:
In a large bowl, combine the flour and cold grated butter. Mix until looks clumpy like damp sand.
Add the yogurt or sour cream, egg, baking powder and vanilla extract and stir until the dough comes together. Divide the dough into 2 pieces and transfer it to a plastic wrap and place in a fridge for 30 min.
Filling: Mix the flour, sugar and butter. Mix until filling looks clumpy like damp sand.
Roll the dough out until it is thin (17-inch x17 inch)
Spread half the filling over the dough. Slowly start rolling the dough up. Flatten the roll slightly and use a knife to cut the dough into 8-9 pieces.
Brush with the egg wash. Preheat oven to 400 F/200C.
Bake for 20-25 minutes, until the tops are lightly golden brown.
