► The crypto mining craze is over and GPU prices have returned to a relatively reasonable place, but it's mostly these ex-crypto miners are selling off their cards, so you need to be careful of buying a defective card that will end up as e-waste.

In this video, I share my story, some tips and advice to follow when buying and testing a used graphics card.

Purchases made through some store links may provide some compensation to Dylan Bradford Media.

“Hmm… I wonder how many likes this video… wait… 200 views??? 6 likes??”

Fantastic video man. I would’ve loved a segment going into why you *should* still buy used, even if it is more risky. Other than that, this video is informative and professional. You’ve got a follow from me.

YES SIR!!! Same with me. Bought my 3080 TI SUPRIM at practically brand new condition off Marketplace. really nice boertjie in some small town way on the edge of GP and Free State. I use it now in my editing rig at work. Built a BEAST of a system with my 5900x, 128GB DDR4 Trident Z, TB NVME and 60TB of Storage.

Even bought my case on Marketplace too a brand new 7000D Corsair for only 2.5K. He had a whole warehouse of them that he bought on auction. If one is savvy and extremely discerning, then FB marketplace is a blast.

Used pricing should be 75% if current gen with receipt. 50% for last gen without warranty. 2000 gen should be 25% msrp and should be tested before money switches hands. I have been mad at anyone stating otherwise. Now there is an exceptions to this buying from a friend. If you can trust them about history lowers the risk.

Putting electronic component into an oven kills its capacitors, maybe not instantly but they will fail after some time, capacitors do not like heat.
Thanks for the video.

I only buy used computer parts from eBay sellers with a 100% positive rating. The most recent was an RTX A2000 I put in an OptiPlex 7010 for a modest gaming rig. So far so good, but it's always a crap shoot with used gear.

fixed an 1050 by throwing it in an oven. bench mark showed it worked well above the average 1050...lucky silicon maybe?

Bought a b450 motherboard the other day, fired it up and didnt post. DRAM led up. Tested the ram in another rig, no problems. Tried another cpu, didnt post. Motherboard dead. Luckily it wasnt that expensive and got most of it back by selling it for parts.
