I am on the island of Bonaire... but I started the trip by taking a cruise. I wasn't allowed to bring a ham radio on the cruise ship. (Why, Royal Caribbean?) So, in this video, I show how I can remote into my home radio and work POTA, even though I'm 2,000 miles from my station.

Every major radio can be controlled through software. So, connecting your remote laptop computer to your home computer using software such as Teamviewer will allow you to "play radio" when your radio isn't anywhere nearby.

That is very cool. I am getting ready to head out for vacation tomorrow. I am packing an additional backpack with my TX-500, antenna, battery, battery charger, cables, etc...even though playing radio through the computer isn't quite the same, I would be very happy to do that vs having to pack and take all this extra gear. Even though it's only 1 additional backpack, it's still one addition thing. Guess a Flex Radio will have to go on my wish list. Thanks for sharing. This was very cool to watch. 73

Very cool. I've not tried remote radio yet, but I may in the future. Good to know that you can't take your Ham Radio on a cruse. Does that also include HT's?

Cliff: Why not use Flex Radio Smartlink into your Flex 6300? I do this with my Flex Maestro when RVing and it works FB.
