Gadhafi refers to Obama as "our son, " an affectionate honorific in that part of the world by an elder to someone younger
He never said Obama is his son
It’s how we talk in the Middle East
When an elder is speaking to someone younger in a respectful way they say (ya ibni) which in Arabic is the same as saying oh young one when speaking to someone younger
And yes ghadaffi did respect Obama
Plus he never said he supports Somali pirates he used them for comparison

I'm romanian. While I didn't get to live through Ceauşescu's reign, I can confirm that thanks to him my country is a mess.
When he got overthrown, alot of changes were made especially in the power between the president and parliament.
After Ceausescu got executed, the role of president was changed to have less political power than it used to, and instead that power was given to the parliament, it was said that if the power is given to a group of people was to have more political power we can avoid galling under another dictatorship in the future, and as true as this might be, it was still a mistake. Our president now is mostly for show. He does not have any real power and if he makes a decision, that decision first goes through the parliament, which would usually reject it if it means making them lose money.
Our parliament is full of old corrupted farts, some who even supported Ceausescu's ideas.

Nowadays our parliament have one main focus:
Fattening their wallets and pockets with our money.

A few years ago they tried to make a law which would basically decriminalise corruption, so if someone was found guilty of corruption they could escape without being imprisoned, but thankfully our president, as weak as he is, he has the right to veto two parliamentary decisions so he used one of those vetos to reject their idea.

Now, a couple od months ago, the parliament decided to invest millions of euros in buying limousines for each member. In short our government overall is completely corrupted and we have no way of changing it, this is why many romanians leave the country in search of a better place to live. We dont have a choice.
We either stay in there and have our money drained by oversized taxes either leave it in search of a better place.
We get alot of criticism for doing that and many would call us thieves, and I won't deny it, it is true that some idiots are going outside just to steal and mess our reputation even more than it is, but this is just a minority. Every single nation has such people be they romanian, polish, british, indian, american, you will always find someone like that.

I had a bike that got stolen two years ago and the thief was in fact a british person. The guy was stealing bikes and other stuff from people's backyards and would sell them later on, just as he did with my bike, since they couldn't find it nowhere.

The current world is completely messed up..
