If you have any hope for the future read through the comments of this or any similar video and you’ll be cured of your optimism.

If the climate was so dire they’d call an end to all wars, they’d stop flying private jets if only to set good examples, they stop buying up all of the beach front property — again if only to show us that we are all in this fight together

SORRY Channel 4 but your fear mongering and bias and the reporting of Covid gives us little faith in your journalistic skills and embracing this story from the mouthpiece of the WEF as well extremely liberal left biased stance of your news stories only cements the disappointment of your "news" reporting

The great news is that fertility rates are plummeting, which will lead to a reprieve on the population stress that humans are inflicting on Earth.

First of all, getting off fossil fuels entirely is a pipe dream for the foreseeable future, because major industries require a level of energy density year round that cannot even remotely be powered by wind, solar, etc. Also, the world's militaries are never going to run on wind and solar, and the US military alone is one of the single biggest carbon emitters on the planet.

Moreover, corporate interests and corporate profiteering will also not allow this, and since corporations have captured most governments in the Western world through lobbying and "campaign contributions" (otherwise known as legalized bribery), no real legislation will ever be approved to support the sort of green agenda that would be essential to make a meaningful dent in carbon emissions.

And don't get me started on EVs. Ever looked at the entire life-cycle of an EV? They emit just as much carbon as an ICE vehicle over their lifespan. They amount to a feel good measure—foisted onto a public who can scarcely afford them—while in reality make a difference about as significant as tossing bricks in the Grand Canyon.

The only way to fix the climate crisis immediately is to completely shut down our civilization as it exists today, and devise a new one. But, of course, that's never going to happen.

Realistically, the only hope now for mankind is new forms of reactors, be they technologies like salt reactors...or, hopefully, fusion power. Until that time, we're all going to have to get used to a warming planet - unless you want to start a violent revolution to overthrow governments and corporate interests.

I think it is important to begin fining companies who don't follow policies about not polluting. I don't think a simple recommendation (a policy without legal consequenses will suffice). Good luck to us 🌱

NO ELECTRIC CARS!!!

STOP thinking we’ll solve the problem with BUYING MORE STUFF.

What we need is better transportation AND rezoning so that “appropriate” businesses for daily needs and interests are built within neighborhoods to greatly reduce the need for cars. Multi-transportation where people can easily bike, walk or use public transportation to get to the grocery store, shop, get to work, go to school, and meet up with friends. Limiting car use.

Less car dependent MORE walkable communities, which by the way are FAR MORE PROFITABLE than big-box stores (Walmart, huge department stores, etc) to cities.

Get rid of these dead zoned neighborhoods (with row after row of cars, driveways and asphalt) where you literally have to take a car to get anywhere.

FYI: SUVs are dangerous, gas guzzlers and should be outlawed.

When you release hundreds of millions of years of stored carbon into the atmosphere in just a few centuries, the carbon levels increase.

Carbon gases retain heat. High levels of carbon in the atmosphere cause the atmosphere to warm up.

Heat is a type of energy. Warmer atmosphere means more energy is available to drive weather events - warmer atmosphere means more severe weather events happening more often. That's more floods, droughts, heatwave, coldwaves, cyclones.

Hope that helps for anyone not familiar with climate change
