🇰🇷My Korean After 11 Years 🇰🇷 || Day In My Life Vlog

Finally! A video that features me actually using one of my languages. As a pretty shy person, it took a bit of courage to post my imperfect language skills here. Even after 11 years, while editing this I cringed to hear the pronunciation, grammar, and vocabulary errors that found their way into this video. But like I mentioned (but poorly explained) in the video, language learning is a lifelong practice, and it's important to show the imperfections in that journey as well - even 11 years in!

Your Korean is really natural. You know 'natural' is more important than 'perfect' in languages. I'm a Korean. My Korean is not perfect but natural.

오랫동안 이런 비디오를 만들고 싶었는데 이렇게 오래 걸릴지 몰랐네;;; 완벽하지 않지만 그래도 올리고 싶었어요. 봐줘서 갑사합니다~ 😊😊
I've been wanting to make this kind of video for a while now, but I didn't think it'd take me this long to get around to it. It's not perfect, but that's all part of the learning journey, so I still wanted to upload it. Thanks for watching!

I think you are right about sharing imperfections. Even as a native Korean, I make countless mistakes in Korean day in and out. That said, I hope I accept my mistakes in English as naturally as I do in Korean. A person with genuine interest in language, I gear towards making fewer mistakes in any language. Nevertheless, if that thought stops me from using any language, it does more harm than good and gets pointless. As you already know, you are a perfectly capable Korean speaker. Kudos to you for sharing this video!

Really awesome to make a video like this on a "primarily English speaking" channel, and pretty bold. I'm inspired to do something similar should the day ever come when my comfort level with Japanese supercedes my shyness. Keep it up!

Oh wow your Korean is amazing. Seriously you sound really natural. No wonder you're teaching Korean!
I relate to a lot of what you said about language learning here. One minute you feel like you're quite good, but the next you're frustrated by how bad you sound (This always happens to me whenever I record myself talking in my second language lol). We always hear how language learning means making mistakes and there's no shame in it. And heck, even native speakers can sometimes be sloppy, too. But when it comes to second languages, we just seem to have this weird double standard where we have to be perfect. I know this is bad, but sometimes I just can't help it.

I'm sorry if this was rambly and somewhat preachy😅 I just felt compelled to put this out there.
Anyways, thanks for sharing this video. It was great to watch you speak Korean!

한국어할 때 목소리 톤이 좀 더 낮아지는 것 같네요 신기해요 ㅎㅎ

저도 일본어 공부중인데 어렵네요 ㅜ 특히 한자
