YES! you can paint your own airsoft gun black because its not illegal to own a black airsoft gun or even buy a black airsoft gun with no UKARA its only illegal to sell them to people with no UKARA, hope this help clear some things up

As long as you dont brandish your airsoft gun in public and i mean DONT!!! Regardless of whether its and IF or RIF. It stays in the house and only comes out at a gamesite or on private property. NEVER PUBLIC!!!

Heres a question for you.

Is adding black attachments IE sights, suppressors to 2 tone airsoft pistols illegal?

This is because in the vcra 2006 it says that it is illegal to modify a imitation firearm to a realistic imitation firearm.

I also believe it states that if you modify an imitation fire arm and it does not conform with the distinguishing features IE "Principle colour",


then you are committing an offence as it classes as "modify a imitation firearm to a realistic imitation firearm".

The reason I ask this is because alot of times the two tone on a airsoft pistol is 50.50 black and a bright colour, but adding attachments pushes the principle colour to black, as the majority of the pistol becomes black. Which in my opinion means the "Prinicipal colour".

it's mad as I own few pellet guns that look very realistic and can actually hurt you but if i wanna get a bb gun that looks exactly like mine pellet beretta it have to be two tone, it's like someone who made that law was was brain dead

what about removing the paint of a colour you don't like ad changing it to another bright colour for example going from blue to green or pink to red?

So I brought a M240B which came in all Black, that I ordered in Two Tone Blue for public display only, I don't do any airsoft games because its too expensive. I do Re-actments as in dress up in 90s British soldier etc I was told if you have a full Black replica you need a RIF card or document incase you were stopped by the police. But if you had a Blue Tone replica you won't be stopped by anyone they will know it will be airsoft just not a realist firearm.

I was walking around in a military event carrying my L85 two ton blue from Vigor airsoft and I was not only stopped by a patrol by taken selfies with them. Lol

So is it acceptable to camo tape a two tone when at an event and remove the tape at the end of the day back to its two tone state 🤔

they don't understand. this applies to them as a retailer not you, they can't sell to a un registered person, but you the human can do what you like, also I wouldn't go showing it of in public as someone may think its real and, well you know the rest.
