Ukraine and Russia accuse each other of terrorism at UN over Kakhovka dam destruction

Russia’s UN envoy, Vasily Nebenzya, claimed at an emergency session of the security council that Ukraine destroyed Kakhova dam in a 'war crime' before Ukraine representative Sergiy Kyslytsya said it was typical of Russia to blame the victim for its own crimes.

Both representatives accused the other side of terrorism. Pointing out Russia has been in control of the dam for more than a year, Kyslytsya said the dam was mined by Russian occupiers. 'By resorting to scorched earth tactics, or in this case to flooded earth tactics, the Russian occupiers have effectively recognised that the captured territory does not belong to them,' Kyslytsya said.

Let me point it out (Fact checking).
1) Who mined it?
Russia's sappers during the Kherson advance. They also threatened to vlow it up if the Ukrainians would attempt to cross the Dniper.
2)Who would benefit the most of this incident?
Russia. By flooding the area, they increase the diatance the Ukrainians have to cross to land. This has 2 effects: Increase the time their troops are critically expose and increase the number of means they're going to need to build bridges and making the latter easier targets for bombardment and shelling.
3)When did it happen?
Exactly in the eve of the Ukrainian counteroffensive. When it was the most convenient - again- for Russia.

Now you tell me who did that.

Russia should not be allowed to sit an any UN meeting until they withdraw from Ukraine or at least propose a cease and desist of aggression to attend any future meetings.

Time to add my pennyworth. The Dam was in an area long controlled by the Russian Army. Quite some time ago now I recall watching a video which showed Russian soldiers loading Anti-tank mines into the structure of the dam and I believe it was evening/night time when they did it. It's months ago now and Ukraine have not been able to get their troops into that area since then. So it does not take much to work out which bunch of half cut "soldiers" were responsible for detonating those explosives. And, being terrified of the Ukrainian counteroffensive it's easy to understand why they tried to stop it taking place

The destruction of the dam is an important topic, but of even greater importance is the situation at the nuclear power plant where, as far as is known, one of the engines is stopped hot and could be used for an even bigger disaster.
We are talking about nuclear terrorism and that can no longer keep the UN forces or the West on the sidelines because the nuclear disaster threatens all of Europe, not just Ukraine or Russia. Urgent action should be taken and the UN should establish a control perimeter of several km around the plant so that the last engine can be stopped safely and thus the danger can be removed. It is the duty of the media to put pressure on the UN decision-makers to intervene in this crisis as quickly as possible, because if the disaster occurs, the fault will not only lie with the belligerent parties, but also with those who could do something and didn't. made

If the UN will not manage to assert itself this time either and succeed in protecting the atomic plant from Russian terrorism, unfortunately the UN has no more purpose because facts, not words, are the characteristic of this organization

The explosives were planted on the Russian-controlled side of the dam... That area is inaccessible to Ukraine after the dam was hit by HIMARS last year.
The Russians deliberately filled the dam to it's maximum level (record breaking level) before detonating the TONNES of TNT they planted LAST YEAR.
There is no possible way Ukraine could have done this, they don't have the access to the correct area to plant the explosives, and they don't have powerful enough rockets or artillery to cause that much damage.
