"Messege me back when you can"

He waited for a few hours but there was no reply. He got genuinely worried and stated texting her repeatedly.

"Hey" was her reply after 3 whole hours.

"Oh thankgod you messged me, are you alright?" He texted back almost immediately.

"I am not sure"

"What do you mean?" He asked frustrated.

"It came inside and somehow made me blackout
When I woke up, I am in this place I dont recognise" she said looking around the dark room.

"Explain where you are" he texted back.

"I dont know, I am in a room and its kinda shabby, one window, just a door. Wait a minute, does that door open?"
She said as she tries opening the door but it was locked from outside.

"Did it open?" He asked.

"No" she answered.

"Look in that window, what can you see?"

"I can see another old house, maybe abandoned."
"Wait a minute, is that you in the window?" She asked as she saw his figure in the abandoned house.

"Describe that house"

"Okay, it has these dark walls, looks very old and a part of the house has fallen apart." She said

"That is very much like this house, wait I will wave, if yousee me wave tell me." He said as he stood up and waved both his hands.

"Yes, you are waving both your hands." She said.

"Gosh, Mia! That is me."

"Have you gone nuts, get out of that house then." Mia texted.

"I want to but the door is locked"

"A part of the house has fallen apart, there will be enough cracks for you to get out. Go to the back of the house."

"I did not go to that backside because I was scared. Wait I will go now." He said as he went in search of cracks.

"Mia, I successfully came out." He texted again.

"Wow, that's great news. Now come and unlock my door"

"Coming"

"Wait, don't come." Mia texted frantically.

"Why? What happened?" He texted almost immediately

"I just saw through the keyhole and that thing is right outside my room"

"Are you sure it is that?"

"Yes, it looks just like you"

"Mia, I am still outside so don't open the door if it knocks thinking it is me. I will tie a plant on my right hand like a bracelet." He texted before plucking a plant and tying it around his right arm.

Mia walked back and forth trying to come up with a plan. She knew it would take her phone if it found her with the phone. So she hid it in her secret pocket.

After a while she got a text.

"Mia I just saw through the house you are locked in, that thing is right there and even the crazy man is with him" He texted her.

"Crazy man?"

"Yeah, he was the one who led me into the abandoned house"

"Do you think he is a scientist holding some kind of grudge against you?" She asked him.

"I don't know, did you lock the door from the inside?"

"No"

"LOCK IT"

"Okay I locked it."

"Can you signal me which window you are at?" He asked.

"Sure, I am waving my hand and sticking my head out of the window."

"You're so high"

"Yeah, maybe I am on the third floor."

"So there are two of those fake me's?"

"No, it went down before you sneaked in."

"Okay"

"Okay I am inside your building"

After a while, she felt knocking on her window, so she looked out to see him. She was relieved that he came this far.

"How did you come here?" She asked.

"I found a ladder, now climb down with me." He said as she nodded and they both started climbing down.

"Be quite okay, or they will find us." He said as she nodded.

"Do you have your phone?" He asked and she nodded again, she removed it from her pocket and held it to show him.

"Okay I will keep it, now come lets go somewhere safe." He said as they both held hands and started running.

Once they were far enough she asked, "Where are we going Nick?"

"I know somewhere that is safe, they won't find us there. But Mia, we will not be the only people there, there will be a lot of crazy people as well." He said warning her.

"That sounds like the best place to hide." She said as she followed him while holding his hand.

After they reached, there were indeed a lot of people who looked crazy. But she followed him into a room.

"Mia stay here, I will be back in no time." He said as he left her in that room and went out.

She looked around and saw that there were two hospital beds. She sat on one of the beds and waited for him, that is when she spotted a hidden camera. She looked more intensively only to see that there are so many hidden cameras, she stayed calm and acted as if she saw nothing.

After a while Nick came back and she saw that he bought a bunch of foods and a bottle of water.

"They gave this for you Mia, I still have to go out and talk a bit to them. Eat well, I know you are hungry." He said before he pecked her cheek and went out. But now Mia noticed that he did not have a plant tied around his right hand, she remembered clearly that it wasn't there before as well.

She knew whatever she did will be captured in the cams and they would find it suspicious so she acted calm and composed and instead of eating anything she pretended to be asleep for a few minutes and then she woke up and walked out of the room.

As she was strolling around she noticed that all of them were not crazy but incredibly intelligent. It looked like they were doing stupid things but in reality it was all groundbreaking things.

As soon as she found Nick, she went near him. "Nick, I will go out for some fresh air" she said.

"Okay Mia, but just be careful" He said with a smile, she nodded and left the lab.

As soon as she was outside, she sat on a bench facing her back to the lab. She took the phone she had robbed from one of the people inside the lab and typed the number she knew by heart.

"Hey Nick, it tricked me and brought me very far. I am Mia by the way." She texted.

"I know it took you somewhere, I tracked your phone and I am infront of this labwhich is in the middle of nowhere." He texted almost immediately.

"Well do you see me sitting then?"

"Is that you Mia"

"I am waving my hand." She said as shewaved both her hands, but she did it secretively made sure the people in the lab cannot see her waving.

"Yes, you are wavingboth your hands subtly." Nick answered.

"Good, that is me" she texted.

"Do you see the Banian tree in some distance Mia?"

"Yes"

"Come there, I am right beneath it"

"Okay" she ran there, because she knew that they will follow her.

She reached the Banian tree andthere he was, the real Nick with his plant bracelet.

"Let's run between the forest, it will be heard for them to find us."

After running for a long while they both stopped to catch there breaths. By now it was morning it everything was lit up by the sun.

"Nick, I think they are after me."

"What?" He asked still out of breath

"That thing took your looks to take me to that lab, they wanted to do something to me." She said as she looked at him.

"Do you really think so?" He asked and she nodded.

"Don't worry, I will protect you at any cost." He said reassuring her.

"I am not worried for myself Nick, I am worried about our baby." She said placing her hand on her tummy.

He sighed, "Don't worry, I will protect both you and our 4 month old baby." He said.

"I don't think she/he will make it, especially because I ran so much." She said as tears filled her eyes.

"Does your stomach hurt?" He asked as he held her soft hands lovingly, she nodded.

"Let's go to the doctor as soon as we're out of this mess. Now first let's go to aunt Nina's house. We will be safe over there." He said as she held his hand.

He put Google maps on his phone to his aunt's house as they walked that much distance. As soon as they reached Nina's house Nina hugged them.

"Look who has finally decided to come. How's the baby?" She asked Mia.

"We have to get checked in the hospital, but I am too afraid to even step out of the house." Mia said as she held back her tears.

"What happened?" Nina asked and Nick explained everything to her.

"Don't worry, I will call the doctor here and let's get you checked out" she said as she helped Mia sleep on the bed.

After the doctor checked Mia, they said the baby was doing just fine and there was nothing to worry about. Which made Mia worry less.

Just then they heard someone.

"Brother Nick? Where are you? Aunt Nina said you're here." She said in her shrill voice.

It was Dia, Nick's younger sister. As soon as Nick heard her voice he went to greet her as Mia lay exhausted. Dia came to the room Mia was sleeping to greet Mia.

"Hey Mia, I wasn't able to see you since you and brother ran away." She said as Mia nodded.

"Are you alright? I heard you are having a baby?" She said as Mia nodded again.

"Leave her alone Dia, she has to rest." Nick said as he dragged Dia out of the room. Mia peacefully fell asleep.

She woke up in white walls and a completely different room she did not even recognize. But after looking around a bit more she realized she was back at the lab. She looked at her wrist which still contained the injection marks which confirmed that this was not a dream.
