How to Fix External Mic Not Working to iPhone! [Connect External Mic]

Recently we tried to connect an External Microphone to our iPhone, but it was giving us ‘This Accessory is not supported on iPhone’ error. Some users also complains they are unable to connect an external Microphone or it is not recording any sound at all. This video tutorial will show you how you can easily connect an external Microphone (Boya, Rode etc.) with your iPhone. This will also show you how to fix if your external microphone not working problem.

We have used an iPhone 13 Mini, but this process will work for iPhone 13 Pro Max, 12 Pro Max, 12 Mini, 11 Pro Max or any iPhone running on latest iOS.

I have a question, what sounds what things do you have to go through to make it where you can hear what things are happening on the speaker while you’re recording with your microphone Casey I’m blind, and I can’t hear anything once I plug this microphone in.

when i try to use that boya mic on streamyard cant hear the audio because recognize the mic as earphone how can i change that?

I’m trying to use the mic with video record. But it thinks the mic is a headphone. It doesn’t take sound in with the mic plugged in and it doesn’t play sound out either with it plugged in because again it thinks is a dam headphone

Still does not work, it ignores my brand new apple adapter and records internal mic. I kept on using my iphone SE but the input jack is now worn out, and this adapter does not do the trick on the SE or SE2.

YOU FIXED IT!!! Thank you so much!!!! I've been trying to connect the MOVO VXR10 with an MFI certified connector and nothing I was doing was working. Held down the "screen record" button and turned the mic on...and it works like a charm. :D

Ok everyone listen up, after 3 hours of not figuring it out I surprisingly figured it out, it’s the adaptor!!
U need adaptor that supports microphone not just audio preferably just microphone or get an adaptor that has split sockets for audio and microphone. If you can’t hear shiz when u plug in the adaptor it’s cuz the phone recognizes it as audio cuz it is and if ur microphone works but no sound it’s cuz the adaptor supports both audio and microphone

So like I said ether get adaptor for microphone
Adaptor for microphone + audio
Adaptor with split sockets for audio and microphone or Bluetooth microphone

My wireless Rode & Hollyland Lark have never worked even with the correct dongles bought from Apple or the higher quality chords connecting. $600 on wireless mics later & I'm beyond annoyed. Any settings inside the iphone that might help?

I'm using the lavalier go 2 to plug into my iphone 14 pro. It's not working and this video did not help. I never saw the "screen recording" button on my phone once the mic was plugged in using the lightning adapter

Just found a adapter that works on iphone 12 pro it’s called UGREEN lightning to 3.5 jack it works perfectly!

Bro my handsfree works when it is plugged in but when I turned on mic the voice comes from phones speaker regardless of plugged in
