Police confiscated my Motorcycle!

That one time I am riding another Motorcycle it gets impounded immediately by the Police in Pokhara Nepal! What the exact reason was? nobody knows for sure and at least we got our money back. Apparently it’s illegal to rent vehicles in Nepal but yet you can do it. Anyway, It’s not gonna ruin the day. Eve also had a little incident falling over while parked (because of the lack of a parking brake🙄) but with the help of my friend Ben we got her all fixed up again and left with only a few battle scars. But what now? Time for some fun on the Go Kart Track! Happy days 🙌🏼

5:00 you are absolutely right here .. If someone calls himself a police officer and stops someone and just cannot show his ID ...Then that guy has no authority to stop you ..

Wow. Sounds like they were familiar with that bike and its owner renting it out. You’re certainly not the first person to have rented it, and they probably became aware of it as a result. You just happen to be the unlucky rider at the time they decided to take action. I’m glad it all worked out though. And it is a shame about Eve, as I was thoroughly impressed she had not had any problems up until now. But you know how it goes, it’s not a matter of “if”, it’s a matter of “when”.

It’s good to see the group together and having a lot of fun. Especially Loki!😊

Thanks for the great video!

Ride safe.
Ride smart.
Have fun!

Traffic is so much corrupt here in nepal they find excuses to fine

It is good to see that Nepal has no serious problems needing the police so several police orricers can have time stop a motorcycle.

It is illegal to modify bikes but legal to sell modification products....totally doesn't make sense ...as a Nepali motorcycle enthusiast I am sorry you had to go through that crap. It is illegal but the bike owner should have understood and explained and the officer should lower his EGO a little bit.

The renters just told us to ride the scooters/bike anywhere but inside the police’s hotspot, so it just means that it’s illegal to rent bikes in Nepal at all, even though i am from Nepal.

The bike was modified to increase its sound, and such modifications are illegal in Nepal. The police officer, probably a high-ranking officer off duty, noticed the loudness of the bike and called his colleagues to check it out. They were not looking for a bribe, and they do not receive any commission from fines, contrary to what others are saying.

I still remember back in 2018 when I entered Nepal, the border policeman asked for a bribe straightaway on my face.. the asking amount was 15k (INR) when questioned why he wants the bribe, he had an excuse and said its my sister wedding so i need the money..😂..i mean seriously why would i give money for your sister wedding do i know you 😅

Hey Marc, you can use a re useable cable tie (zip tie) around the front brake lever for a parking brake. top tip!😃

The Copper is pretty chill by the way. The way he said, "you dont need to worry" signifies he has no issue with you guys. The only problem he has is with the modified exhaust pipes of the bike. From what I see he fulfilled his duty all while trying his best to assure you guys weren't the problem.

Welcome to Nepal Marc. I was last there in 97' and corruption was evident at the airport with the baggage allowances.
I wouldn't be surprised if the police there were on the take picking on tourists.
Also good luck getting a straight answer.
My wife is Nepalese and I never get a straight answer from her or her family 😅

I don't care where you from, if you are in nepal please follow nepalese rule, if police say you can't rent a bike leave it. You don't have a right to argue in foreign country .I'm nepalese and drive bike In Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore and Japan as well but every time we have to respect their rule.
