The Mini 2 is my first and only drone and totally worth it! I have been launching it out the window and flying it while sittimg inside with the air conditioner on, because here in The Inland Empire its been 38+ degrees Celsius here. No signal problems! Thanks for the advise again ☺

I've been wanting a drone for a while, and recently took the plunge and went with the DJI Mini 2 after reading a lot of reviews - I'm amazed with how capable it is for the size, and how easy it is to fly (though I still have a bit to learn). The quality of the photos and footage is great too. Glad I didn't opt for a cheaper drone to start off with, as I've a feeling I'd have ended up regretting it.

My wife bought me that first drone for my birthday last year, first thing it did was fly into the ceiling proceeding by destroying my mums roses, I just said thanks anyway and shipped straight back to amazon and replaced with mini2, never looked back

I have to say, this is the best piece of advice I have come across so far. I nearly bought one of the Holy Stone drones few days ago, but having watched this, loads of unedited footage and numerous issues I decided to go for a second hand DJI (not sure which model yet). No brainer.

You've hit the nail on the head ....I went out and got the the 906 pro "The Beast " about a year ago . I must say I have had some enjoyment out of it and have learn't to fly, it has taken good photo's but the video has jello and is not the best.
as you mention in your video, i'm bored with it and need to upgrade ... the mini 2 as this moment in time is the answer .
Your honesty about drones is great, don't change that .
Thanks Bru ( P.E South Africa )

This video will help assist others in their choice of which drone to purchase and as you say, not waste their money!
I bought my DJI mini of an auction site about 7 days ago, came with little use, the flymore combo, a full set of ND Filters and 2 of the best range extenders plus a set of warning lights as extras' for £300 including postage and as a new drone user have been very impressed with the ease of flight and quality of the 2.7k camera. Really happy with it and looking forward to using it more in the right areas, gaining some more flight experience and then jumping up to the Mini 2 for the 4k.

DJI have set the bar so high and you do grow to absolutely trust their drones. Even when I, as an operator, am being a twat like I was the other night, pushing the battery a bit beyond the auto RTH point to get some sunset shots and not quite having enough juice to get back to me, I was still confident enough in it's ability to allow me to have enough control bring it down somewhere recoverable.

Your confidence as a flyer grows because you have confidence in the drone.

You are speaking the truth. I went with DJI from day one and I have never looked back. My first drone was a DJI Mavic Air and my present one is a Mavic 2. I love the Mavic 2. Such a smooth flier and the videos are fantastic. I've been tempted by the cheap ones but the reviews always show why DJI is still the king.

I started with the original F11 and had no problems with flying it but I was disappointed with the picture quality and then got worried with the changes to drone laws. I switched to the Mini 2 when I could get back out again after the first lockdown (being locked at home for months meant I hadn't spent anything So I had spare cash) and I'm really pleased that I did.

I trust the Mini 2 in the air, the picture quality is far better and, being so small, I can take it everywhere. I'm just looking forward to heading north, getting on a few Scottish islands and taking so footage.

My first drone was a dji mini 2. I checked many options but the mini 2 is the best value for money. The videos look amazing

As someone who used an F11 4K Pro as one of my starter drones I agree. I would have been better off starting with the DJI Mini 2 or Air 2. Live and learn.

Couldn't agree more, I tried the {for the want of a better word}a cheaper one and the fact is they just don't compare with what DJI has on offer.
Great information and advice .

I agree with you I’d rather save a bit longer

Fully agree, my first drone was a phantom vision years ago. Even that drone would out fly these so called beginner drones. 👍

It even looks cheap on camera! i would have to agree with you. For anybody that wants to start, buy a intro level drone from DJi ie Mini 2. Actually it is more than an intro level drone. You won't regretted! Great video Darren, as always spot on!

Nowadays, I agree, but "back in the day?" God, I loved the fact that I had my Syma X5C-1. It taught me so much and it just wouldn't break, and man, did I try! I think it was $65 and when I had enough practice, actually tried tricks, etc. Again, this was 4 years back and the learning was invaluable...but now...Save the money and buy as you said... second-hand usable DJI Spark and practice, practice, practice!!! What a good idea and one then save their money to buy the DJI Mini THREE coming out soon!!! :)
Cheers!

Yes D spot on advice. DJI SE for budget. Just stay with the brand we all know and love 😀

Thanks for this honest video. I went through two budget drones and then bought my Mini 2. The difference is like day and night. I still fly the budget drones just for fun, but there is no way the footage comes anywhere close. However, I'm the type who learns things the hard way. Crashed my JJRC Cetus many times and it is still okay. Lost my Holy Stone for six months. Glad I didn't pull my beginner shit with the DJI 😁

Yep, your absolutely 💯 right. I reckon the DJI Mini SE has got to be the best buy atm. Paired up with an app like litchi, what cant you do?. Cheers for vid

Thanks for posting this. I'm feeling validated. Lol. Got my first drone a few weeks ago, a DJI Mini 2. Loving it! Seems like a great beginner drone. And frankly, if I hadn't loved it, it has great resale value. My friend on the other hand bought a cheapy off Amazon, lost it within minutes, now claims to hate drones....
