So simple, yet so effective. There may be stronger and more secure methods for long hauls, but for a quick cinch and quick release it's hard to beat.

Anyone who wants to make a single tip YouTube video should watch this first. It's short and to the point and demonstrates a very useful tip very well.

It can come loose depending on your tie-down. We were doing it like this for our side by sides for work (4point, 45deg to anchor) and eventually had to change it up. What would happen is with the roads and strap creep, the slack you take out leading up to the tie-knot would loosen just enough to catch wind and start creeping the knot down. On the highways this led to the webbing progressively flapping more until the knot worked itself loose. Not all the time, but enough that it got annoying.

👍I have never ever used a ratchet strap but I want to however they scare me & that’s how I ended up here. This video is fantastic! I appreciate you. Thank you sir 🙏 from all of us daddyless daughters out here. Daddy taught me a lot of stuff but he didn’t get around to teaching me about ratchet straps. RIP daddy. 🙏💝

Finally a video that focuses on the purpose instead of yapping about nonsense and sponsors.

Been using this way for years after seeing this video and it’s still my favorite way to tie off 🍻

Another option for the loose end is to feed it into the ratchet while there is a little slack left on the line you are tightening. Then you info the ratchet and the loose end comes out

Thanks for sharing. I have used this trick since the 1990's to take my dirt bikes to the hills. Never thought about sharing it here tho. Good idea and it does work well. We have never lost a dirt bike, quad, street bike, Harley or any Cruisers do to bad tie down job.

Omg thank you! So sick of watching videos of folks with their kayak straps just folded or my favorite - shut in the door 😂

Can you do a video on some of your modified sleds? I'm looking to really screw up my old Arctic cat and when it's done I just want something to look at and ask myself why didn't I do it like that

How in the hell is it that you have the loose end of the strap coming out of that side? Is that a 35ft long strap that you just have looped back through the hook end's eye?

Until the wind vibrates it loose... good for quick things but works better with rope... these flat straps tend to slip much easier

But wait... Where is the 20 minutes of history, personal anecdote story and technical explanation before finally showing the knot? lol Sarcasm, I love this video. Thank you!

A better way is to fold it up tuck it into the rachet then tighten it a couple clicks then the end is not flapping in the breeze getting frayed
