We Will Go Home (Song of Exile) - from King Arthur | Cover by Rachel Hardy

"We Will Go Home (Song of Exile)" is a beautiful song from the 2004 film "King Arthur". I had to do some major digging to get to the bottom of the origin of this song, and discovered that the tune is actually borrowed from "Bidh clann Ulaidh", a traditional Scottish song. Unfortunately I couldn't find a lot of information about the lyrics, but I've heard they were translated from an old poem. The arrangement in the film was by Caitlin Matthews.

This song is the first thing I think about when I remember the movie King Arthur.
The mother sings this song for her child and others to listen to and to dream away. But the feeling the knights get when they hear it hits even more. The battle scars they carry all these years and the hope they will one day return to their families.
