About 50 years ago I read an article in LA Times titled” Is Sugar the New Shark Bite?”
Ever since, I have attempted to mitigate the risks by eating a protein and fiber alongside any “empty” sugar calories. (Empty meaning negligible vitamins or fiber)
I think our B-vitamins are depleted with too much/many refined sugars.
My son is “addicted” to dates, but he also runs miles, skateboards, mma, and loves his Wildland firefighting career.
He eats avocadoes like crazy too.
So healthy.
I used to make his birthday cakes with dates and nuts and berries!

Would this dopamine addiction apply to artificially sweetened beverages as well? Since we are still experiencing a sweet flavor is there not that same dopamine release?
