"Mere Christianity" is one of the most popular Christian books of all time, in my opinion, rightly so. In this video I summarize the essence of the book and also read hand-picked quotes that I found most thought provoking.

7/10 good (maybe not for everyone)
6/10 and less: I try to read good books lol so that rating should not occur

I'm not Christian, in fact I was raised Muslim(or Muhammadan as Lewis would say lol) but I've been mostly atheistic/agnostic since a teen. I was going through a dark time when I decided to give this book a chance a few days ago and I couldn't put it down. Lewis has such an accessible style yet can talk about such complex topics. Like you said, it was like he was reading my mind when he would address objections that I had soon after they sprouted in my mind. By the end I wouldn't say this book made me a believer but it made me believe that I could be a believer. Thanks for this review, you picked some of my favorite passages and your summary was succint and to the point. If by chance you end up reading this comment, I'd love to be recommended a book of a similar vein whether by Lewis or another author. Thanks again :)

My wife's favorite book was, "Mere Christianity." She passed away in May, 2014. Her middle name was Elizabeth. Thank you for sharing the review. It's good and thorough.

I really appreciate your summary and thoughts. 'Mere Christianity' absolutely deserves the praise and recognition its received. You'd be hard pressed to find a book that could more simply, eloquently, and powerfully explain the Christian faith and message in a way all can understand. It's remarkably classic, but timeless all at once.

Elisabeth, thank you for this great summary. It is really interesting to know that we can discover our own pride by asking ourselves how much we are bothered by being ignored etc. God bless you! Your hard work for us is a 10/10🌹❤

Another great summary + review. I will definitely get the book. I’ve heard about the book for a long time. It’s time to read it!🐌
I appreciate the moral law, pride and faith explanations. For example, he really points out the significance of rooting out pride because it’s so bad. Your opinion about how well C.S. Lewis uses good reasoning is important to me too. Thank you again! Have a great week.

Halfway through the book, I always wished to be mentally challenged in church services, now reading this book I think I may be mentally challenged

If you like C.S. Lewis, his "Screwtape Letters" was a real page turner! I also thoroughly enjoyed his works, "The Four Loves" and "The Great Divorce." Oh, and "The Weight of Glory!" is a favorite of mine, too. I gave that one to my Uncle Pat who is a Catholic Brother a few Christmases ago, and he also gave it a great review.

<also to note: Jesus told us in Matthew 5:9, "Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called the children of God" so as an Ecumenical Protestant who cherishes interdenominational dialogues with all believers in Christ Jesus, I want to say peace and thank you for reviewing this Ecumenical novel, Mere Christianity. I sincerely foresee Jesus making all the formerly feuding Catholics and Protestants live next door to each other in heaven until we agree to love each other for who He is in us!! lol>

I used to joke to my friends: I judge a girl based on her bookshelf.

But wow, if you have a whole book room that makes you a 10/10
