Thank you for mentioning that if its the alternator and it's jumped the lights will fade or it'll stop running after too long. Too bad none of the videos i watched a few weeks ago mentioned that! Would have saved me $300.

Alternator test: If the car starts but stalls if you disconnect the battery, good sign your alternator is toast. (I'm sure some mechanics or know-it-alls will jump on that but every car I've ever owned will run without a battery connected) Also, if you're driving in the day and can't see if your headlights are dimming, try the wipers. If they're slower than normal, good sign you need to pull over before you stall out.

What if I have to jump the car, and drive for several hours with no issues. Then the next day, I have to jump the car again in the morning.

Batteries with "Fill Holes" are the ones to buy (if possible)..you can top off with "Distilled Water" when water is low

Hey there I have a 2011 BMW 328I I got the problem with the charging system so I replaced the battery brand new with the alternator and starter brand new on the same day but when I start the car the battery won’t hold charge and it’s keep losing voltage every second and then finally die in like 20-30 minutes before the car die I hear like 3 to 4 clicking noise under the hood by the driver side. I checked all the ground cable everything seem good no corrosion please help.

My car charge when u raise the rpm but when u let go the car wont charge and car dies. What are some reasons why the care doesn’t charge when it’s idle. Only charge when u raise the rpm. Please help

1 More thing: Could be due to battery resistance? A simple 5W solar trickle charger won't charge my battery past 80%. But a battery charger connected to a socket will and maintains it just fun.

A weak cell or one that is going bad can cause all kinds of weird electrical issues. Also the ding dongs at a parts store often will say the battery is good cause they don’t know the difference between charging system test and load testing the battery.

Driving without hinged gas lid (cap cover) will allow small switch to drain battery and make starting problematic at times. My son and I both lost our in tire blowouts...Good tires ... Bad Florida roads.

Use distilled water in the battery not tap water, tap water has minerals and other contaminants that can short out the plates

All my lights and equipment work just fine when I have the battery charger plugged in but when I got to unplug the battery charger from the battery all lights and equipment will shut off and no cranking of the engine.

Just put in a new battery. It gets draint out when it's not running

Hi there?. Well.... the red battery icon comes on while I drive, but when I accelerate; The light icon disappears. However, as long as I don't stop the engine, the engine won't die, but the moment I stop, the moment the truck won't start. I purchased the battery in 2018 (Diehard Silver). The Advance auto parts check the battery and told me it was fine (Like 12.?? volts). I don't think the problem is the alternator.
