Met Police settle civil case for ‘racial profiling’ of Black bank manager

It sounds like the plot of a dystopian film - but it all happened to Dale Semper, a black bank manager from Enfield. After a seven year fight for justice, the Metropolitan police have settled the civil claim he brought for racial discrimination, false imprisonment and malicious prosecution.

Wow, what a horrendous level of foul play and maliciousness by the MET!! 😮 This man's life has been destroyed, and yet MET will probably stand by and take no action to those that are to blame here.

It sounds like someone had it in for them and the MET allowed themselves to be used as an instrument of oppression for too long, probably due to incompetence mostly but perhaps there was also an element of prejudice or racism.

After so many public enquiries, lost court cases and settlements, it's clear the Met needs to be forced to change. A public campaign of ostracising and non-cooperation with officers is warranted and justified. The irony being that with their overall crime detection rate of less than 6%, according to Home Office data, such a campaign will have little to no impact on public safety.
