For S95B, i would use 17 (1312 nits) or 18 (1500 nits) clicks. 1000 nits is a bit to low because the TV can definitely show small highlights with 1300-1500nits. 17 clicks are the perfect value for me

Hi, what is the correct setting for s95b after recent updates where they lowered brightness? Thanks :)

On the Rtings peak brightness chart they have the QN90B at 2, 006 nits brightness on a 10% window and your chart has it at 1, 700 nits.

Do you notice on the QN90B that reds look quite orangey while in DCI-P3?

I set 20 clicks
and for the minimum black do one-click then use the shadow details slider just till barely visible, then down 1 click when you finish.
I use -3 ST.2084 and +3 shadow details
if you like a contrasty image keep shadow details 0, for better details +3

Doesnt the qn90a have the same peak brightness as the qn95a? Or are you referring to the non USA qn90a? Thank you for the great content!

Great video but you should make it clear that with the S95 B peak brightness depends on what firmware you have like me I didn’t update to 1302 so the peak brightness of my tv is much brighter

On the s95 b after 16 clicks the sun is still very visible. Is that how it's supposed to be? When doing the 1st 2 screens

I have a Samsung qn95a. If your press on xbox series all the bumpers (l1+r1+lt+rt), it will show the values on the game hdr screen, so you can be very accurate. Having said that, i am not a fan of game hdr setting. First of all most games have their own calibration settings for hdr, so this means that almost no game leaves it to the system level, plus it makes the screen dimmer. But because i never tried putting gaming hdr on with the correct values, now i will try them and see.

Shouldn't you just turn HGIG on and clip the sun? So you are using the full range of the tone mapping they have at play because HGIG isn't perfect on anything right now. Wouldn't setting it lower than that decrease the brightness in the highlights. Because according to the tone mapping. Not what the panel can actually do but, wouldn't you be telling it by putting the correct "1000" be halving what the tvs tone mapping thinks it is because it thinks "2200" or whatever on the S95B is.... is max "1000" so telling it "1000" would actually be around 500nits in the tone mappings eyes. Otherwise the sun would of clipped ?

This is great, thanks.

One question - on this video its saying HDR 10+ on as basic, and also game hdr on.

On another video of yours, its shows hdr10 off and only game HDR.

Both videos are saying that they are the correct set up.

Could you please clarify?

Then with horizon, would i still peave both on?

Im using the qn90b 43inch

Thanks

Just saw your other video where you mention you'll be doing videos how to set up HDR for these TVs. So I assume Xbox gets a seperate video?
