I filmed Bleak House for the BBC many years ago, had the stree covered in Thames mud and used many smoke machines to give it a Victorian atmosphere.

Have worked in many of the apartments there. You can still smell the spices in the exposed timbers of the building.

I live here, it’s ridiculously expensive and It was also used as a location for the Dr Who story: resurrection of the Daleks.

I worked in that area in the late 80's and it did not look like that at all: Tree growing out of walls etc.
Borough Market was the home for the homeless at night, with them burning pallets at night under the railway arches...

I played as a child in this street when the wharves were derelict in the 70s.
I still live less than a mile from Shad Thames.👍

i adore this street - i always feel like it's got some of the most densely packed stories of anywhere in London, that every single building has things i could learn about and more that have been forgotten

I attended secondary school not far from Shad Thames, back in the 1970s when it was old and battered. When it was reported the area was being overhauled we thought it was very funny and couldn’t imagine it being a tourist spot.
30 years later I worked nearby and admired the imagination those architects and planners had!
It’s now buzzing with people and businesses and looks fantastic.
