Starting around 3:36 of your video, you select the 15GB partition you designated as the Recovery Partition in GParted and instead chose to Use as: Home (/home). Then you selected the larger 45.8GB partition that you had designated as the Home Partition in GParted and set that as the Custom (/recovery/) during installation. I'm guessing this was a mistake as I can't understand why you would suddenly swap them during installation after setting them in GParted. Am I correct in this assumption?

It would seem like it would be more logical to use the Home as the larger partition and the Recovery as the 15GB partition. I'm guessing this was a mistake in the video? If so, you should add a note or something to inform others that are newer to this process and just learning, like I am. It could avoid potential confusion.

“Create partition table” wiped the entire drive that I had stuff. Didn’t even ask for a confirmation. Thanks for letting me know ahead of time.

Doing a /recovery partition is unusual. Saw the for the first time for Linux machines.
As you did it here the /recovery partition will be empty after booting the machine I guess?
So you have to do further steps to get the /recovery partition ready? Or how does this work?

Hello, thank you for showing us how to do manually, but i did the same and it does not work,

and i tried : 2 mo free space no system files
1002 Mo fat 32 for EFI
4 Go in Fat 32 /recovery
minimum 15 Go for root (/) ext 4 for exemple
space as you want for home (/home) on ext4
the swap depend of you memory ....
in end 2Mo free space without any format ( system of files )
and it will work

i do not understand why we need 4 Mo free space !!!

the swap normaly it will be in end of the partition before the 2Mo free space

i do not understand why it s work on your computer not on mine like you doing !

If I want to put my /home on a different disk, how do I do that? I assume I'd just change the target disk in the top right in order out home elsewhere

My files are all gone just like that. What were you thinking? Couldn't you have at least said something about it. This is so disappointing. Do something about it now at least😡
