That was incredible! Starship launched Flight 6, and it didn’t go quite perfectly. But what does that mean? Is SpaceX advancing, or was this a step back? How did the launch go? Why did they try to break the ship, and why was a banana involved? Here’s the complete breakdown of SpaceX’s Starship Flight 6! Enjoy!

One Banana to rule them all! All hail Banana! 🍌

Actually, they did get it right. Safety protocols worked perfectly. For all those whining about no catch, be patient, it will become like falcon 9.

This was an almost complete success. The booster performed perfectly. Starship reached near orbit, relit its engines in near orbit, reentered with much less flap damage, and it had many tiles deliberately removed before flight, and it landed perfectly on the sea. Incredible. This beauty is going to be a success. A complete revolution in space launch capabilities.

I guess it’s technically an advancement, since they proved that the off-shore divert functionality worked properly

You paid a magnificent and beautiful tribute to the Starship team—thank you, Felix!

Flight #1 gave us a very good demonstration of how TOUGH ship and booster were designed and built. I have NEVER before seen a rocket tumble in flight and not breakup, yet that's what this pair of booster and ship did, only breaking up well after the FTS charges ruptured fuel tanks. The stresses generated by a supersonic tumble would have torn any other rocket to pieces.

SpaceX has designed an incredible system. Very well done team!

What everyone seems to be missing, is that SpaceX solved the flap burn through, with the steep entry profile. I don't think this test was really to add more stress to rocket. But a method to overcome the long period of heating, for a more extreme heat level for less time. I only know this because of KSP!

SpaceX to S31: We will break you
S31 to SpaceX: HAHAHA!! Hold my beer!

So, Felix why didn't they attempt the catch?

Felix: It all started with the fall of the Roman Empire...

The booster definitely performed better than last time! I'm constantly astounded by iteritive design!
Thank you WAI team for presenting an awesome video about the booster. You win THAT round ! ( Scott manly won the Starship analysis, but you both win my heart ❤️)

It is unbelievable thinking about the engineering behind this beast
They try to break it, and yet it survives and even lands. Such crazy achievements they made...

It's always alarming to me how late they start the engines for the soft landings of both Starship and the booster. But the math doesn't lie!

The auto translation made by Youtube/Google is just VERY GOOD. I've been listening to WAI in English for a while but this time I decided to try it in Portuguese and it worked!!!

Can we take a moment to appreciate the Banana song at the end?

20 years later SpaceX engineers will be giving talks and tours in exhibitions talking about how they did the things and software like the guys who worked in Apollo program are doing in space centres and exhibitions

I imagine they secretly had an apple inside the booster.

I loved that you made the audio available in Brazilian Portuguese, as it gives the chance to other people to follow your excellent and sometimes poetic description, thank

I HAD to listen to that song at the end again!

Can you imagine being in a Starship crew landing on the mechazilla? It will happen, and I hope it is amazing.
Spacex is on track for great success. Every other space industry is copying them. And they are not fools.
