There’s that instant gratification.

I personally prefer to do things on my own and not depend on friends and family.

Great video Dave, I totally agree. Paying off the debt first will give you so much peace of mind.

This guy has his mind made up before he ever called.

I recently declined buying my in-law's house. I just want to get my first house without family help. That's just me.

In 2007 we bought a house right before the market crashed. We had student loans, a car loan and credit card debt when we closed on the home. Do you think we had some regrets after watching our first home loose 33% of it's value? True that hindsight is 20/20, but all things considered, we should have focused on our debt instead of our house fever. Many years later we became debt free for the first time in our lives, recovered and bought our second house, this time around we did it the right way and I have no regrets.

The only way I was able to start paying my debt was buying a house. It was significantly cheaper than rent. But I'm a rare case. $26k in school debt.

Debt free now and paying off current house in 2 years instead of 30.

So, they have been paying rent in this house for 8 years already. Why is there still a mortgage on the house? It seems like they are buying too much home. Why not just give them the house? This is weird.

That’s what my dad used to say, if you lend money to your relatives either forget the money or forget the relationship. Dave sounds so so much like my dad and my grandfather. I found Dave when I am 35 but I don’t regret it, I always followed my father and grandfather’s thinking so i am on same page as Dave. I stopped using a credit card and put me on a fixed budget each week, trust me I had to cut down so many unnecessary spending which cost me money and clutter my house. I feel absolutely great, thanks Dave for showing people right path. Not everyone going to like your advice but I can vouch for them.

Just pay off high interest debt first...

Then consider investing / buying a house. Smartest financial decision you can make.

Yes. And you should only eat rice and beans, sell your car and deliver pizzas 16 hours a day until you pay off everything.

We borrowed money from parents (my wife's), we payed them back. Zero issues. No interest, they actually forgave us some. Best parents ever.

He must be new to Dave Ramsey you are supposed to be debt free prior to buying a house 🏡. Only on a 15 year mortgage.
