Correction: there were 2000 of the Galacia battalion members that were brought over to Canada. However, there were even thousands more than that of other Ukrainian nazi fighters and their families that were also brought over to Canada too. They were covert operations as part of the CIA project. From what I've come to read it was apparent that of the CIA's partner countries in these war criminal fugitive escape operations, Canada happened to actually be the most enthusiastic of the countries to take in these nazis and their dependants.

There are also very influential right wing groups from the Baltic countries. There are Latvian Lithuanian and Estonian right organizations in Canada.

But the parliamentarians don’t know what you guys are on about. What’s the big deal?
Just follow the script.
Let’s all stand and do the clapping seals routine.

When I lived in Canada, I told my family back in the US, "this is where the Nazis went. And their decendents are here." The people were all decendents from Ukranian or Russian, and their grandparents/great grandparents definitely had a past. I'm not saying all of canada is like this. I just happened to be in an area where they settled, some small town. It was VERY noticable to me. I like to ask questions about people, their history and traditions. Learned a lot fast. They neved said the truth outright, but there were blaring context clues. Up till that point, I thought most former SS were in South America.

I worked with an old man from the Balkan region and he confessed that he killed Muslims during the Bosnian war. I don’t know if he is still alive but that was insane encounter.

The anti-communist priest would would cross the river from Windsor, Ontario into Detroit during the 1930's to get on the big powerful radio station to preach to all the good anticementhead Christians.

America is also a hot spot of ultra-nationalist diasporas, so similar.

There a hell of a lot more than 2000, a large block of the Galicia Division came. It's worth noting too, that many Ukrainian, travniki, Extermination and concentration staff who ran these places under the supervision of Germans .Though many Ukrainians fought for the Red Army and partisans against the Germans, this wretched legacy has never been addressed in Ukraine itself or Canada. After WW2, the west, in favour of potentially fighting the USSR, backed away from the pursuit of these butchers. It is a sordid dark legacy that stalks these places still. By way of a final point, everything has a context, the USSR committed some horrors in the forms of the forced collectivism famine, the execution of Ukrainian intelligentsia and other things also. It doesn't justify, though it is context.
