Easily understood thank you. I have built a cinema dome (so it's circular) in my garden and get some strange audio phenomena at the moment I'm going to try and overcome with treating the room... There aren't many rooms like mine so it's all trial and error, this is just one less thing to worry about for now. Looking forward to going through the rest of your content, especially proper rear setup.

Hey Benni,
Just found your channel, thank you for all the useful and interesting content. Keep it up! :)

With using SPL Meter to calibrate, I always learned to move the meter sideways in hearing position. So that if there would be a belly/knot you're not getting misleading metering. :D

Keep up the good work!

Does it mean the spl meter needs to be place differently for each speaker ? Like facing each one ? Or it can stays at the same center position?

Hi! Why we should left pink noise generator in -20 dB ?

Since youre setting levels vs other speakers and not the absolute SPL why would you need to have the meter C weighted?

How to conect 5.1 to my computer with XLR? Du you have some advice?

Yo Benni, great walkthrough! Also, good on you for not giving in to the crazy Avid prices all the time! I do most of my work in Reaper but thinking about maybe moving over to Davinci/Fairlight if feasible.

This might sound stupid but my LFE is behind my set up (under my console) and when I run pink nose through it it's barely audible. I have to crank it up to insane levels to reach 78 DB on a SPL from the *listening position, partially because the desk is blocking it, no? I'm probably missing something obvious here but my LFE would seem impossible to get to that level. Do I move the SPL meter?

Hi Benni. Thanks for posting. I'm trying to search for specifications / standards around time alignment of the surrounds as part of calibration. Before mixing should a studio time align all the output channels so the sound from all the speakers reach the mix position at the same time. And also further on the same lines - what about aligning the phase of the subs with the mains at the crossover points? If you have any info on this, would be much appreciated. Thanks.

hello Benni, the spl meter, for the lfe, is it placed at the level of the ears pointed straight ahead the C or down towards the LFE ?

Hi Benni, thanks for your video. I'm wondering where do you get Tron Legacy Stems? I guess I did not understand how to calibrate LFE for theater. The Pink noise on the sub should sound at 88db? 10db louder then the front stereo speakers calibrated at 78db? This is blowing me out of my studio! :-)
