This guide will take you through the process of updating or upgrading the firmware or operating system of your Panasonic Lumix S5ii full frame camera.
You will need a SD card reader or adapter
fully charged battery or continuous power adapter / USB battery bank
The Camera Body, with or without an attached lens.

You don't need to keep removing the SD card as you can connect a USB-C cable from the computer to the camera and transfer the firmware file to the root of the SD. After the update, you can then delete the file from the SD card in the same fashion.

Just bought an s5ii that came with version 1.1. I updated to 3.1 later to read online that I wouldn’t have all previous updates. is this true?an or will I now have to download all previous versions, then back to 3.1?

Question, I've never done a firmware update on my S5IIX before, I'm still on firmware 1.0. I heard that I should update previous firmwares before I update the new firmware, but Panasonic's website only has the option of downloading the latest update (1.5).

Do I HAVE to update the latest firmware first or can I just update my camera with the 'New Firmware" and be ok?
