Beginner Film Photography: Easy and Cheap ways to Shoot, Develop and Scan

In this video I explain how you can very easily and cheaply try analogue film photography. I also give you my thoughts on the medium format camera Mamiya 645 1000s and the Mamiya Sekor 80mm f/1.9 lens.

Hello, thank you for sharing your view on first steps in film photography! I'm doing the same right now, started with a couple of 35mm films and today gonna shoot my first 6x6 film. I agree with you, that it's much more meditative and the fact, that you have to wait to see result, raises excitement to a different level. :)

Very interesting video - glad you are enjoying it! If I may make a suggestion, try holding the camera underhanded in your left hand - I find it to be comfortable after you get used to it. This provides a solid, secure support, and frees your right hand to work controls more easily. Just a thought! Hope you do more film videos - cheers!

I use a Mamiya RB67 as my main medium format camera. But I also have great Zeiss medium format cameras that cost me £25 and a 35mm Praktica camera that was £12!!!

Really motivating Micael, I am currently moving house and will have space for a bit more of a photo set up so had considered doing a bit of film as currently only use digital. Would you still recommend as an enjoyable photographic experience?

Very good idea trying analog photography! Even at our home stand still three old grandfather's cameras around. But no Mamiya ;-) How much did this Mamiya cost when it first appeared on the market?
