Doing it the right way by having a very experienced skipper to train you and there is no better way than practice, practice, practice! Well done all on what looked like a bitter cold day!

You are both so lucky to have found a partner who shares your dreams, works hard to achieve them and remains positive in the face of adversity. It's hard to believe you've got so far when you rewatch your earliest videos.

Simon, to prevent smoke discharge, remove the drill often during the drilling process and remove the swarf from the drill flutes. Smoke indicates swarf friction which causes heat temper loss to the drill causing tip cutting change and also breakage. You both should be proud of your efforts.

Nice run. As a sailor I view those conditions a bit differently. That looked like a nice day for a sail on my 36' sail boat.

Those ribs on Sarinda are looking stunning, putting good bit of strength back in a poorly hull so well done. Enjoyed that little jaunt out from the marina, get plenty of practice

Great vlog, enjoyed the trip out and what you have to do. A strange thing happened to me the other day in my a garage, I was about to spray primer on my 1/20th Model fishing boat I’m building when Ken Bruce (in relation to PopMaster) shouted ‘What time is it’! And I shouted back ‘It’s paint your boat time’! Straight out, no thought! Your definitely influencers. Stay well all.

Buying that twin engine thirty something was a very good decision to gain experience.👍

It is so smart for you to both learn and practice as much as you can. It’s also a great way to meet the community in your area. Plus picking up fishing and entering tournaments make it a joy.

Hey you two i just wanted to say (possibly again) how impressed I am with your persistence, energy, practicality, skills and crafts. How you can work so hard in such an environment is so impressive, and to do it all with humour and love is unuplifting. Keep it up legends.

Oy, my chest hurts now from laughing so hard.
Gemma: "There's some really strange noises today on the boat."
Simon: "It's a bit windy. Not Gemma or anything."
Didn't see that coming. Thanks for that. Needed a laugh.

Hi something that might help you hammer in the epoxy repair frames/stringers is a pneumatic rivet gun, not one of those cheap Clark ones but what is called a 3x aircraft rivet gun, I used mind to remove steel bolts in wooden frames where just a punch and hammer did damage. The rivet gun is so quick with blows it didn’t do any damage whatsoever.
Nice blog

I looked after an old 50' Seiner and in the winter the power had gone out for a few days and massive snow storm. I knew we had a leaky plank, so after my shift, got down to the boat, no shore power, batteries dead and foot of water above the floorboards in the engine room. Thankfully we had a hand cranked Lister, which was a bastard to get going in the cold, but once she ran, was able to pump the bilges and charge the batteries. So if you find an old Lister engine or a similar one that can be hand started, definitely think about it. Also perhaps a dedicated battery to your generator will be a good backup as well.
