The Bennington family bought a boat worth £2000 in 2020 and haven't stopped upgrading it since. The boat, a large, abandoned boat, was badly damaged in several areas. Over the course of 16 months they managed to refit it to start a new adventure.

If you like boats, you can visit the @SailingMelody channel, where you can not only see how the Bennington family works and lives, but you can also soak up their maritime culture!

As someone whos done so much work building, restoring and customizing cars over the last 40-years i really admire all of the hard work involved, the passion and dedication as well. Theres noting more gratifying than seeing it all pay off in the end😊

This is probably harder than building the yacht from scratch. What a beautiful restoration on this yacht, much respect for all the hard work they put into this vessel. A smooth sea never made a great sailor. Happy sailing, you deserve every inch of that horizon.

How envious (without malice) of this couple. For the challenge of restoring an old yacht and making it seaworthy again, working even in the cold.
Another thing that impressed me was the fact that the boat had so many metal parts to scrape, cut, weld and paint. At first I thought it was all made of fiberglass, but they only used this to finish the internal parts.
I wanted to know if they had any experience in shipbuilding.
Magnificent work 👏👏👏

I have been following the Sailing Melody channel for a few years now and Andy, Mellissa and Jack have now upgraded to a larger yacht, which they are restoring and adapting. The larger boat was needed due to the arrival last year of Oliver. They are in the pocess of selling Melody, if not already sold. And are preparing to set sail around the world in the next few weeks aboard their new and renamed yacht Ocean Melody.

Jaw-dropping. Congratulations on your spirit of economicality, your team bonding, your sense of not wasting, not recycling, but giving back life to man's first exploring medium. Congratulations, and, should you ever cross Corinth Canal, let me know!

Chapeau! Many years ago I made my dream of owning my own steel yacht come true by constructing one myself but having the hull built by a shipyard. Since I liked my plans, I received it at a very low price with the condition that the shipyard was allowed to continue building it. When the bowl arrived, I found slightly rusty spots under the primer and had everything sandblasted on the inside and sanded everything on the outside. It took me 16 months for corrosion protection, painting, interior work, marinization of 2 diesel engines and all the technology.
