I mean, it's got a snorkel on it. At this point the electrical components will be it's main threat.

Dont ever call a discovery an SUV ever again 😂

For those who don’t know it has a snorkel on it which when the engine goes under it will be fine. When the snorkel goes under the car will then break down.

Thats not an "suv". Thats a Landrover, farners often use them. Defenders or Discoveries.

In America, Tesla owners would drive right through. Someone told them they were special. They are special in a different way.

In case anyone is wondering this is the ford in Kenilworth in Warwickshire. You can see Kenilworth Castle in the background of one of the shots. The small stream is called Finham Brook. The Brook was dammed in the 14th century to create a moat which allowed Kenilworth Castle to withstand a siege for 6 months - the longest siege in English history. the Ford is at one end of the site of the old moat. It often floods in winter and creates a lake in the local park . Those of us who grew up there used to call that lake ‘Joe’s overflow’.

That sign doesn't say it's forbidden, the sign warns driver that the road MIGHT be impossible to cross.

Arizona has many roads that cross dry washes. Water only runs in the wash when it rains or snow melts, usually many miles, up the wash. At all road/wash crossings are signs “DO NOT ATTEMPT TO CROSS WHEN FLOODED.” There is also a “Dumb Motorist Law.” Anyone who tries to cross when flooded and gets stuck, or floated downstream and needs rescuing has to pay the bill for the rescue.

I miss our old volkswagen beetle. There was even an old ad showing it will float on water. We forged through a flood while the japanese car that went ahead stalled midway.

"dark green coat" must be ai narration. If the disco has a snorkel, gearbox and axle breathers extended and the electricals moved higher or waterproofed it won't have any issues. I did it to my d2. It was a pain and I had replaced the seals to stop water from entering but that made the rear end float so I opened up the bottom of the door seals to let water in then out again.
It was a dedicated off road trial truck though, not a daily driver.

In the UK and other sensible places it's a footpath, not a 'sidewalk'.

Landcruiser would absolutely flourish it through that and be fine

In water that deep your biggest threat is either floating your car, which ensures that your car is gone, or for the road to be washed out, especially when it is murky like that. If you fall in the hole where the road was. You will drown unless you litterally have full scale rescue available on the scene, which never is the case. In Queensland Australia the motto is: "if its flooded forget it.". Because if anything has happened to the road you will pay with your life.

My toyota prado is about 15 years old now. About 2 years ago, It made it through raging water that was shattering windows from shops that were reaching half the SUV's windows. The car from inside was still cosy, and to this day, it still works 💪
