We mulch ours with mower.I get bagged leaves from neighbor who literally bags them.I save for my browns for my compost tumblers in winter.

I hate having leaves pile up due to snakes. I just happened to mulch mine up with the mower this year and you just made me very glad that I did. TY

Unfortunately we have 3 maple trees in our front yard. We end up with about 6-10 inches of leaves. We add them to the garden instead!

Like many others, I run my mower over enough of mine to put a thin layer over my entire garden. The rest can stay. Actually, I'm in town, and the neighbors don't like my leaves on their lawn (they removed all their trees so they wouldn't drop leaves - insert eye roll here) so I run the mower over the front yard & bag them up for the garden...and the back yard, which is fenced so the leaves 'stay home' gets left alone. Needless to say, the grass is healthier in back than in front - in part because the front is also shaded - but that just means I can mow less often in summer, and it still looks good enough to pass muster with the 'yard police'. My backyard grass sometimes gets pretty long, but what they can't see doesn't concern them.

I'm going to rake my leaves for making mulch for my garden that I know where the material came from instead of buying it from an unsure source. So it's not something I feel like you can tell people not to do

If we only had grass! Most of our yard is gravel. We rake up the leaves and put them in the compost ring for our chickens. If we had grass I would be leaving those leaves in place. Lol

I don't, but I need my neighbors leaves, so keep raking and bagging people😁

I've always heard they would kill the grass. I would love not raking, or blowing in my case.

If that's all the leaves you have, that's fine, but we get a deep layer that smothers our grass when it lies around wet all winter. It then ends up a dead dirt area and only weeds grow up.

And I don’t kill the dandelions that grow in my yard either. 😉 I actually love seeing the leave that fall in my yard.

My dad, an organic gardener in the 50’s, 60’s, and 70’s NEVER raked, and he would pay neighborhood kids to collect leaves from others (.10/galvanized trashcan full - packed) to put on his garden!

Apparently you don't have a Magnlia tree in your front yard that when the pods fall, which are many a day, they create a danger of breaking an ankle. 😅

I never rake my leaves until right before spring

Don't Let Leaves Lie on Your Lawn
In Autumn leaves naturally fall off deciduous trees. If the leaves collect on lawns they can 'smother' lawn grasses; shading and squashing grass and encouraging damp conditions under the leaves where the disease may flourish. So rake up those leaves regularly.

Is we had anything besides oak or pines that make my soil acidic....then I would. I can't rake 5 acres so I blow them lol

😂😂😂😂😂😂😂We live in the middle of the woods, and would have absolutely no grass left if we didn't blow the leaves off the yard. Seriously, it would be a foot deep of oak leaves.
