Didn't DDR4 already have a price hike about a year ago? I remember buying my 16GB RAM for around £40 but now it's at £104. I would say that's just Amazon but it's the same price now on Newegg and I haven't seen the price go lower than £80 in a long time.

So they basically increase the price because they are in the mood for it ?

there is a simple solution, don't buy under the new prices, then it won't be long before it reverts to normal pricing.

In a budget PC with Ryzen 1400 (700€ in germany) you have to pay 20% for 8 GB RAM. Thats so stupid. I am angry.

If people aren't buying RAM wouldn't you lower the price to entice consumers to buy? High Supply + Low Demand = Lower Price.

With the lousy Exchange rate and now the price increase of DDR4 RAM, it's become quite expensive to build a PC in the UK. Not good to hear about DDR4 RAM, it's not like they were that great to begin with.

The price hikes on DDR4 RAM seems very artificial to me. It just sounds like collusion to me. 1) Every major CPU manufacturer is using DDR4 right now so anyone building a custom PC, manufacturing RAM sticks or anyone manufacturing laptops etc. will be needing DDR4 so there is higher demand. 2) They can control a lot by controlling the price of RAM. If one CPU manufacturer becomes too popular then they can raise prices a bit to make it less enticing to build a new PC and once the other manufacturer comes out with a new CPU to compete then prices for RAM will drop a little, just in time for sales of the new CPU. This gives the illusion that the one CPU manufacturer isn't the one behind it all. Its the illusion of supply and demand.

I bought 32GB of 2666Mhz DDR4 for £135 back in September 2015 and I'm glad I did. It's now £229 and set to increase

You have to wonder if these Inflations are Natural or Artificial... it's interesting how these increases have coincided with the releases of Kaby Lake and Ryzen.

Let's keep in mind how much Southern Asia has been caught Price Fixing as of late; not to mention only 4 Years Ago they were caught bloody red handed doing it. DRAM is used in *A LOT* of Products, not just System Memory.

I managed to pick up 16GB 2400MHz about a month ago for £68. I checked the next day and the same kit went up to £110-120. Guess I got lucky with that sale.

basicly is the word of day!! :P Try out “essentially, " “fundamentally, " or “at heart". Keep the good news

Memory manufactures are purposefully restricting supply to force up the price

Goid thing i decided not to skimp on ram back when they where more affordable, now not only can i sell my extra for a small profit on the second hand market, but i have plenty nice high quality ram for myself.

Problem with buying RAM now for Ryzen is that if you want best performance you have to go for the Samsung b-die RAM, which is very expensive. There's no guarantee that your 3200mhz RAM will work with Ryzen if you go for the cheaper option now. However in the future if the platform gets more optimization, it might be possible to use the cheaper ram at full speed as well, but I for one don't really want to risk it. It would really suck to be stuck running 3200mhz ram at 2600.

This video makes me glad I have already bought my new Ryzen build parts. If anyone wants to know a good type of RAM for Ryzen I can highly recommend the Team Dark Rock Pro as I plugged it into my Asrock Killer 370 board and it worked at full speed as easily as selecting the XMP mode in the bios.

As long as I get 16 GB of DDR4 for under 100 bucks, I couldn't care less.

Planning to do a Ryzen 7 ITX build with 32GB of RAM. AM4 ITX boards aren't out yet. I'm not willing to invest $270 in RAM without a way to make sure it's functional.

Well I see corsair vengeance ddr4 3000 going for $119, that's still good. If you want fancy ram though.. different story.

ddr4 sales are down due to price, good luck selling anything with the price increase, pc costs are already through the roof and people inc myself refuse to pay these price hikes on any platform, not investing in the new cpu'sgpu's mobo's is cause and effect this is what happens they're just cutting there own throats, £300 for mobos, insane prices on psu's, ddr4, ssd's, it's no wonder pc sales are down and with these prices they won't increase sales any time soon.
