Meet INTO UEA teacher David Girling - he gives an introduction to what studying International Development entails.

Development can happen anywhere around the world and it means different things for different people. Whether you're interested in politics, education, governance, inequality, climate change or the media - if you have a passion for the world and helping people, then International Development is the perfect course for you!

University of East Anglia say "UEA's School of International Development is committed to tackling global issues of poverty and inequality through our research, teaching and engagement.

We're home to more than 50 staff and 600 students who are driven to make a difference in the world. For nearly 50 years, our school has been at the forefront of research into global issues such as climate change, economic development, environmental justice, and gender inequality.

Impact is high on our agenda. Our researchers work in partnership with international organisations including DFID, the UN, World Bank, World Health Organisation, NGOs, charities and governments, helping to meet the Sustainable Development Goals.

We share the knowledge we generate with students, who are taught the research, communication and critical thinking skills that will prepare them for a wide range of careers."
